You may like to watch the live webcams on rhbcam.net. Right now if you follow the link to the Clifftop Cam you'll see the most stunning live view over the bay. I've never seen it as brilliant as what it is now.
One of my favourite photos i ever took on my phone during a time when we could do things and meet people.
Just watched Robin Hood from 1956 on talking pictures. Used to love that as a kid. Now it’s Catweazle.
One of my favourite beaches. Most of the others are in Northumberland, Scotland or Corrnwall. It is a few years now since I was up there. I like the rocky beach a bit below Ravenscar as well, Hayburn Wyke, which has no road up to it, but has a waterfall on to the beach. Popular with surfers.
Never been that far North JT. Been to South Shields (got a Sunderland mate live there). But will try this when we get out of lockdown
Yes, more than once. Last time October. Stay in Craster. Walked for miles both ways with the dog - he absolutely loves it up there. Keep going to Low Newton for that cracking pub just by the beach (when they open!) Then South to Boulmer, past some of the best beaches you could hope to see.
Well worth it mate. Dunstanburgh Castle Newton by the Sea And Craster for the smokehouse and seafood restaurant.
The seafood restaurant in Craster is sublime and the little pub in Newton by the sea is lovely (The Ship Inn). You can sit on the green with a pint without a care in the world.
And a 20 minute drive up the coast brings you to Bamburgh and the greatest backdrop to any cricket pitch anywhere in the world.
