Pant is playing like a guy who thinks they can still win. Pujara on the other hand is playing his usual innings that would give Boycott a boner that he played many times in Australia tiring the bowlers.
Absolutely. Pujara is a wonderful old school test player who realises there is no rush and you have plenty of time to kill. I hope Yorkshire sign him up again at some point.
I hope Bess brings his England form to Yorkshire. Now he's got out the guys ranked four, six and eight in the test batting rankings which includes the captain and vice captain and he has done it on their own turf.
Yorkshire aren't going to see much of Bess at this rate as he's better than Leach. In other test Cricket news Kyle Mayers has just got a double century for West Indies in Bangladesh. The first guy in test Cricket history to score 200 on debut in the 4th innings.
Difficult to see beyond a draw here, given England won’t want to enforce the follow on. Would need quick wickets and quick runs tomorrow to give themselves a chance
4 overs until new ball available. If we got their last 4 wickets in the first session would we bat again and try and score quickly in 2 sessions or enforce the follow on?
Two schools of thought here. 1. Get them to follow on (if you can) to know how many you need, but you'll be batting on a last day pitch which has deteriorated or 2. Bat whilst the conditions are better, so the opposition bat on the last day. Test captains almost always chose option 2
Plenty of time left yet, test cricket is a long old game. If we need quick runs we can open with Stokes and Buttler.
Credit to Jack Leach. Pant was taking him at 10 an over..(ten an over in test cricket) He didnt let him get him down. Shows a good attitude.
