    When it’s cold and 0c tells me it’s time for a second T-shirt.
    But when it’s hot I prefer the 70 degrees rather than a 30 degrees centigrade.

    57 years ago when I started work as a land surveyor, before becoming a civil engineer I was confused by understanding levels. Ordinance benchmarks were measured in decimalised feet above mean sea level at Newlyn in Cornwall. Decimalised feet ?

    But it also appears like you're a lot further away from your destination. Even though you've travelled further than had you been completing the journey in miles, you've still got further to go. By the time I've completed the journey in miles you've got over half as much again still to do in kilometres. Keep your fancy kilometres, while you're still driving, I will have completed my miles, be in the bar and chatting up all the best looking women.
