Since we decided we didn't need Matty James.

It’s the actual lack of any real clear cut chances that we don’t make that concerns me. We can’t use the excuse of playing top 6 teams now either.

Not quite true as he played the Norwich league game.

    But the sentiment is right.

Complicated, I think at some point you see that we still have Mowatt, Herbie, Romal, Styles & Hame, if he's fit.

It’s OK, we’ve got Herbie Frimpong.

That's not the principal reason we've come to a halt.

James wasn't scoring goals or laying them on. Plus he was hauled off sooner or later for the most part.

We've played some better teams, or at least teams with better resources.

    And we're toothless up top.

We were better with James than Kane though. We'd be even better if Romal develops as hoped.

Mowatt seems to be hanging back more now that James isn’t here.

Engaging in our bi-yearly game of Jenga... form a strong team then see which players you can remove and stay up by the skin of your teeth.
James’ influence isn’t just showing on the pitch, it’s clear he was vital in training and in the dressing room.
Makes sending the bit part players out all the more confusing when games come this thick and fast.
Seriously hope we get a couple in before the window closes, but judging by the excuses coming out already I’ll not hold my breath. Hopefully we have done enough to avoid the drop in the first half of the season but it still has potential to be a bumpy road.

When James and Mowatt played together, they controlled the midfield, and Mowatt was able to get further forward. We don't have that any more.

Unless we didn't know Sibbick was on his way back, we needed to keep James more than we needed to sign Kitching.

Sending him back was the worst transfer decision we've made since signing Mike Pollitt to kick Steele out of the side

the problem us we “now” don’t need James to achieve divisional retention.

    there’s the yin and yang.

Matty James would never have been here next season anyway, were quite comfortable midtable so maybe we are trying to blood our own players in kane and palmer for next season. Someone said they didn't think sol would be here next season hence why he keeps giving sibbock a go.

As for James yes good player he was for us but he never lasted a full 90 and was part of a good team that managed 3 league wins in 18 games under hecky 2 coming against relegated teams.
