He seemed solid. Think he will do well for us. I disagree a bit with the above post. Our defence was put in an impossible position at the start of last season. I think both he or Anderson would have looked very different with more experienced defenders in the line-up. I saw his potential, the boo boys were very quick to get on his back.
Very well, in my opinion. He looked completely at home in the centre of defence and brought the ball out well.
He had a very good game and has taken his opportunity under VI, or is it IV He looked composed and it is great to have options at the back. I have always liked Toby and thought he deserved his chance to shine.
All of the above. Not the first time I've been pleasantly surprised at the amount of improvement in a player after an absence and hopefully not the last. I was starting to wonder where his best position was last season, but he looked very well suited to his role today.
Didn’t he play mostly as right back in a back 4 before? Looked much better as the Right hand side of a back 3 that’s for sure.
To say Toby has had little game time recently, he has slotted back into the setup very nicely. He had a great game in defence. I'm more than pleased with his return if he continues in this vein of form. Well done
Thought he was excellent. I Wouldn't have taken him off tbf. I would have liked to see it go to a flat back 4 with a cover ( sweeper ) at the time, picking up the wide play as that is our most vulnerable position when the opposition is on the attack. Which they did and caused most problems. Not sure we offer much threat or defensive assistance when Miller and Schmidt come on.
