I've always wanted to try proper pie mash and liquor, all the shops seem to be a bit of a trek from the mainline places in London though and I cba to travel out. Beer in London is obviously expensive but I've found it does usually have a proper head - always seems to be in the South West that they forget to put it on.
From a south of Ireland perspective (or any part of Ireland actually)... Vanilla slices Custard Eccles cakes Bakewell Tart Choux pastry filled with anything nice Proper double cream Clotted cream Soreen Flapjack Egg custard I could go on. They make decent cakes but other than that they're hopeless at pastries and desserts.
Surprised at that I'd have thought Ireland would be awash with cream with all the cows and green grass they have.
I'm currently getting an ear bashing about eels, liquor and wet dinners Helen and being told we can get double cream. I stand by the rest of what I said though. And don't ever order a cream scone unless you want to sit and watch the squirty cream disgustingly melt in front of your eyes.
