You didn't answer my questions. What time were you wanting them to wake up and what time do you think they should have gone to bed the night before?
not at 7 am on a freezing cold morning to train at 9, you missing my point about younger peoples body clock
Yes buddy. There was another one too, at Oakwell. Wycombe perhaps? Hard to recall there has been so many games!
thanks Whitey you shut the thread down to be fair, not things I would do for home games, can see point away from home when you there early for coach, I am a nobody I do not know anything about football only as a fan, was just a talking point
I know it's not exactly your area whitey but any idea what the benefit of doing it like that is rather than doing a tactical session later on closer to the game? Or would you be able to try to get an interview with someone from the coaching staff explaining the benefits of various coaching techniques or routines?
I’ve no idea if it’s a good or bad thing. It’s not my field of expertise. I don’t have one! But for every evening game that we lost when training at 9am, I can tell you one we won. When we couldn’t buy a win for 10 games under Daniel last season, there was no training in the AM. They just rocked up a couple of hours before the game. Under Morais, he had the players sleeping in hotels overnight, home and away. Struber had the players do a tactical session for an hour, as soon as they arrived on matchdays. Plenty of methods. All with varying levels of success. But Val’s record so far suggests his method is working quite well in the main.
I’m planning to do a behind the scenes piece with our sports science guy in an upcoming edition of the programme so will ask the question.
What time were you wanting them to wake up and what time do you think they should have gone to bed the night before?
I’m not sure you can put it down to the rub of the green when the record against the top 6 is so stark compared to the rest of the division. Yes, each game could’ve finished differently, but i think our issues in defence against set pieces have cost us against Rotherham, Huddersfield and Preston as well as Swansea (x2) and Brentford. The big difference against the top 6 is we can’t get a goal. Think we have a worldie against Watford and that’s it. Generally, I wouldn’t worry about results against Swansea, Norwich and Watford. My only concern is if we lose again on Tuesday, it doesn’t affect the confidence for the following games too much
I am shutting up ok, you be thanking me when we go on a 6 match winning run and Woodrow goes its loads better now we don't get up at 7 oclock in an interview
It’s a fair enough question in reply to a thread saying the players are getting up too early. Not sure why you’d make a thread about it but not be able to suggest an alternative that you’d like instead.
