Grief, that is terrible. Maybe the police should stop fining people for sitting on park benches & solve some actual crime. I heard Cressida Dick on Radio 4 this morning & I have zero faith in the police anymore. (This is not an attack on individual officers, just a comment on systematic failure in our police force).
Somebody shoots somebody else and it's used as an opportunity to say its the police's fault, despite the fact that they seem to have made arrests. Come on.
Been gang problems round there for years, gang from Pitsmoor got run out of Sheffield and moved to Mexborough as as a gang member's girfriend lived there.
OK, fair enough. That said a friend of mine got a £200 fine today for looking after someone's dog, whilst they went into Sainsbury's in Headingley. They needed some sanitary products as an emergency. Police tried moving them on & they explained the situation rationally. Would not listen, saying you are either out for exercise or you are shopping, which is it? Case was explained again & fine was administered. If that does not explain my point, I'm not sure what does. I'm not excusing the scum that have guns, but I'd like the police to do their proper job please.

They could have had a field day in Headingley on Sunday. Drove past and it was absolutely packed, never seen anything like it. It looked like town centre on the Saturday closest to Christmas.
I've been avoiding Headingley, even though it is my nearest place for shops. I tend to drive to the Aldi on Kirkstall Road, mainly in the faint hope of running into Keith Hill.
