I’m in S70, I wonder how the prioritising works, is it the same for parcels and letters? I’m due some letters, but the wife had a parcel delivered yesterday that was only ordered on Friday
My mum finally got her Christmas card last Tuesday. It was posted 2nd week of December. Bizarrely, the one my wife sent her (posted on same day) arrived within 2 days.
My Son in Australia posted our cards on November 27th (dates on the envelope) and we got it yesterday, heaven knows where its been, but my Daughter got here's before Christmas.
I'm in S70 and I usually see the postie walk past everyday. We don't always get post, but he goes past same time every day
Similar story with my parents, posted from Leeds first class on the 12th. Arrived early in the new year. Parcels seem to be coming through quickly, but Royal Mail are in strong competition with other couriers for this business. I had an LP I ordered on Sunday night arrive at 10am this morning from a shop in Norwich.
The first post we’ve had in ages came today and it’s for the people who lived here four years ago! Royal Mail must be miles behind
I'm expecting some post but it's from South Yorkshire Police about passing a camera van a few mph above the speed limit. Hopefully that will get lost in the backlog!
Ok I’m talking in regards what happens in Dundee. My mate is a postie and has told me to consider myself lucky if I get a postal delivery twice a week. Saying it breaks his heart when I’m the sorting office he sees NHS envelopes with possibly hospital appointments inside just sitting there waiting on the next infrequent delivery. It’s awful but there are people in charge who find it acceptable.
S71 here didn't got some Christmas cards last week that were posted first week of December. As for the Bill's nust means I see the direct debits go before the bill comes!
My mam posted something (S71) to me (LS4) and it took almost 2 weeks to get here when sent first class. I was a bit skeptical that she had posted it when she said to be honest but it makes sense now.
The post you received for the people from 4 years ago is not RM's fault.It as to be posted if there isn't a redirection in. I've worked for them for 38 years and it as never been as bad.Online shopping as gone through the roof and with staff off with covid we can't cope. They have to get tracked parcels and special deliveries out and large parcels. Apart from Rural deliveries there is two posties doing two walks but with the staff shortages they take one walk out and tracked etc on the other walk. Some stay out till 5 o,clock or even later to clear it all but many don't and rightly so if they can't or don't want to. It as been very stressful for a lot of us as we don't like letting our customers down. Hope this helps anyone wondering what was happening.
It as been stressing me how out , i had no partner one particular day so only had to do parcels but i ended up taking hospital appointments and birthday cards ,after 38 years my customers are more like family. I feel guilty even though its not my fault.
I've been working for RM for 11 weeks now and to say its busy is a massive understatement, online shopping combined with the pandemic has put colossal pressure on mail depot's, this years mail has broken all records, but, I can assure everyone, I've witnessed nothing but sheer hard work and a desire to do the very best possible for Royal mail customers.
I'm S71. Pre Christmas I've had over £100 worth of presents x4 either not delivered or attempted delivery I can't locate. Best one was on the card 'at number 8'. My neighbours who were sat around a pool in Portugal and i was feeding their cats! Not RM but the number of folk who I know who haven't received stuff ........
