I've just been having a search to see it the Brighton keeper was any relation of Luke and came across this. "On 9 July 2008, Steele was fined £1,000 by the FA for breaching shirt sponsorship rules; during the 2007–08 season he regularly wore an undergarment bearing a logo that was visible above the collar of his official goalkeeping kit. The FA warned him several times of this misconduct but Steele continued to wear the undergarment and was subsequently fined." Does anyone remember what this logo was?
Ah right. I wear Under Armour under my Barnsley AC vest when it's cold. When I was still playing football I wore Helly Hansen.
Yeah it was the under armour logo. He had it visible over his Barnsley shirt. I recall him having to cover it up for another game on TV a little while after.
Yeah, I think he had been warned about it too previously. There were rumours at the time that UA had encouraged players to do it and that they’d cover the fines. No idea if true though.
Wasn't it on his debut at Anfield? He was done because the FA wanted to send a message by nabbing a "high profile" player!
