But enough positives can be taken from today. Even with first team regulars missing, we took the game to Norwich and showed no fear. In the second half, the league leaders came more into it. They played the ball over the top on numerous occasions to great effect. However, we stuck to our task (despite woeful match officials) and in the end could've snatched a point. We have come a long way in a relatively short period of time, which is why there's sadness at a 1-0 defeat at Norwich. My MOTM was Jack Walton, with some excellent saves in a number of one on one situations.
I feel sad too,but will soon be dancing through the cornfields again, blummin Ref nothing wrong with James tackle
Well said. I think he could have been a yard quicker for the goal though. It's a shame we haven't got better back up because as a sweeper keeper he could take one for the team more. I don't mean recklessly get sent off but if you're going to rush into corner away at Cardiff or at home to Bournemouth you need to do it all the time. It instills a bit more faith from your centre backs who are further forward playing a high line. He's a good keeper by the way.
I know it's de rigueur by some on here to overly criticise young Jack, but I'm not one of them. I've never been a follower of fashion.
Thought they refereed the game more than the actual ref did and he bought into their theatrics way too much
Losing by one goal away to the league leaders and being disappointed is a massive step forward for this club. I'll take that and full credit to the effort put in by the players
totally agree. we lost by only 1 goal to a team that was plaing in the premiership last term. No complaints here matey.
Before kick off the talk was of a 5 game run of tricky games. Most agree we’d do well to get much out of them and a few even thought we’d get beaten heavily today without Mowatt in the team. Now I’m not enamoured to the style of football we play, and was a bit frustrated at how easily we gave away possession by trying to move the ball forward too quickly at times, but I’m positive about our chances because we were always in the game - right up to the last gasp chance that went begging. We’re trying very hard, winning games by the odd goal and the odd bit of quality is displayed from a team with some decent individuals. Just imagine if we start playing really well
Big Val's certainly made us very competitive with his tactics. Brave stuff today and it nearly paid off.
Disappointing result, however not a disappointing performance. We've come a long way in a few short months and I'm extremely proud of our team at the moment. Walton made some good saves, but for me Brittain was our MOTM
