Transfer window aside, which could make or break the rest of the season, we have an exceptionally difficult set of fixtures.

We could easily lose the next three or four. If so it wouldn’t be the time to start saying we’ve been found out, or that the results we’ve had so far flattered us and that we’ve returned to relegation fodder form.

The way the fixtures have fallen mean our next three league fixtures are against top five teams, followed by the return game against Cardiff, who gave us a spanking in the first fixture this season.

If we can negotiate the month and still be in the top 12, we can still go on from there. Should we lose a few games we should recognise what has been achieved to this point and not get on their backs.

Whilst on paper it looks tough Forest haven`t impressed, Watford didn`t look capable of getting through us, the 2 Welshies are always better at home than away then there is Norwich who we go to full of confidence.
It will be good to see how we fair against these at the top.

We’ve had a great December, but I predict an equally bad January. I hope we are able to raise our game, because we could be in for a hiding otherwise.

We’ll always lose the last game of a run. Too fatigued. Also any long away trip too - too fatigued.

Cardiff and Swansea are 2 examples - lots of games followed by a long coach trip down = lost.

I think the Norwich game will be the same. We’ll lose and look leggy - with Norwich not looking mega great either.

Without looking at the form guide, we seem to be WWWLWWWLWWWL. Which I’ll take all day long. It’s top ten form.

As Bassett used to say - draws kill you, and 2pts a game average gets you promoted.

Not being pedantic, but doesn’t every team lose the last game of a run?

Or are only seen coming out to criticise our keeper whenever the opposition score.

I’d be ok with 6 points from January any more points than that next month would be a bonus

We NEVER beat Norwich away or Cardiff at Oakwell, haven't beaten Swansea in my lifetime (except on pens) and Watford have an exceptional home record.

We've recently won at Loftus Road and at Hillsborough. Let's break some more hoodoos in January.

I’ve noticed that, singling individual players out when the team on the whole are doing well. Probably be back to the board hammering by the end of this month.

    Norwich (a) L
    Swansea (h) D
    Watford (a) L
    Cardiff (h) D
    Forest (a) W

If I was offered 5 points from the next 5 games, I'd be happy with that after the Christmas we've had

They haven't watched us at all recently according to these comments:

"Barnsley are likely to be the next cab on the rank to shut up shop at Carrow Rd"

"From the Barnsley games I have seen this season they are vulnerable if they concede the first goal as their game plan is based on keeping it tight"

We’ve put ourselves in a relatively unfamiliar position whereby a bad run of say 4 results won’t see us cut adrift in one of the relegation places. That’s a big positive in my book.

Swansea will feel that they can cause problems with their pace in behind and at least force some set piece situations which we're vulnerable at defending.

Probably single biggest thing we can do to make ourselves difficult to beat against the top 6 teams is put some players on the post for corners!
