Definitely. But we haven't had one of those blips since the 80's now. It's quite sad, I'd love to see your lot, Aberdeen or one of the Edinburgh clubs win it.

R I P Mr Mclean sad how the years pass and we come to the end of our life, he seemed to have a good life doing what he enjoyed hope he did ,even when struggling with dementia at the end the scourge of old football players it seems

the thread brought back memory's of mine as a child

remember sticking him in my Panini sticker book, think Scottish teams used to get about 6 players a manager a club badge and team photo on their page, bit unfair I thought even as a kid, here by the wonders of the internet,I am transferred back to my childhood

I was always drawn to teams playing in orange, back then, had brief flirtation with Wolves after they defeated Leeds 1 nil to stop Leeds winning the title one Monday night, not sure how I knew Wolves wore orange though as all the newspapers were black and white and I was only on Peter and Jane books so would not have read it, must have seen it on the telly, then again we did not have a colour tv until the Borg v jimmy Connors Wimbledon final ,my dad bought it on never never from rumblelows and we felt like kings, until they came and repossessed it for not keeping up payments, anyway I asked Santa for a wolves top and a wolves Subbuteo set, Santa was useless in my opinion he never fetched the right stuff, he did manage to sort of get a wolves top but with no badge but sadly brought me a Blackpool team, had visions of some poor child in Lancashire staring out of his bedroom window on Christmas morning looking at the tower sadly holding a wolves subbuteo team

Anyway enough of my ramblings, just funny how you have memory's of different things even if only a nano second of your life ,R I P Jim

Fantastic story there mate. One I’m sure all football minded folks can relate to.
We all live in a football fantasy land at times.

Lovely tributes on Football Focus today to the late Jim McLean and the fans that perished in the
Ibrox disaster. Absolutely horrendous that fans went to the game and never returned. So very sad.

Very impressed with the segment on the new training complex at Leicester City. Fourteen
full size pitches an indoor pitch and seven separate buildings at a cost of £100 million, thus
setting the Foxes up as one of the most forward thinking set ups for many seasons to come.

The Leicester set up sounds great but emphasises the huge gulf there is within the game between clubs.
