Helen, today was one of those days when the horses have clearly not read the form book! No worries - it's a percentages game and there is always another day! Sunday 1.45 Leopardstown Ballyadam 2/1
The pin has dropped on Christmas In April in the Welsh National. I also really like Clyne in the handicap hurdle. Hopefully Chepstow isn't flooded.
Anybody who looked at my picks yesterday will probably sooner want to go to meadowhall! But for anyone retaining faith: Kemp 12.45 Heross Du Seuil Kemp 3.40 Cadzand Leopds 1.45 Ballyadam [Nap] Leopds 2.20 Winner Takes Itall Leopds 2.55 Castlebawn West/Lock's Corner Chepstow (Will be rained off due to Storm Bella) 2.50 Secret Reprieve/Springfield Fox
Bit better today! Kemp 12.45 Heross Du Seuil WON 3/1 Kemp 3.40 Cadzand WON 5/2 Leopds 1.45 Ballyadam [Nap] Leopds 2.20 Winner Takes Itall Leopds 2.55 Castlebawn West/Lock's Corner WON 13/2 Long game!
Last day of the Leopardstown Christmas Festival today! Doncaster 2.20 Asharaan (9/2) Newbury 12.55 Gowel Road (7/2) Newbury 1.30 Demachine (9/4) Newbury 3.15 Star Gate [Nap] (2/1) Leopardstown 2.25 Saldier (10/1) That last one has been off the track for over a year but has some very interesting pieces of form. He is currently 25/1 for the Champion Hurdle in March, which has begun to have an open look about it. Should he win this afternoon's race he will be 5/1 or 6/1. He has a year off to overcome, but overcame a similar absence when winning at Grade 1 level in November 2019. It's interesting that stable jockey Paul Townend picks him here. A speculative bet, but interesting!
Bang right, Cowboy! Wish I could have found Championship sack race odds! I bet Colin is livid! He would probably have liked to be the one to send TP packing with a win for his Boro at Hillsborough tonight! Good call!
Sounds like Nicky Henderson has a few a bit under the weather as he's freshening them up this week . Cheltenham likely to be off Friday looking at the weather forecast so probably a good time to do it. I know a few trainers ease off in January to give the horses their yearly health jabs ready for Cheltenham but a lot of good racing still
I'm with you on Star Gate, Orsen. Fingers crossed for us both. With Sharjah winning just now, I can see Mullins sending Concertista to the Champion Hurdle. Nothing else in Ireland seems good enough. I've had a little nibble at 20s for the Champion.
