Apparently been issuing the vaccine in goldthorpe this past week. My grandad has had his, but he’s in Doncaster.
My 90 year old mam went for hers last week. Asked her if she had any allergies. She said yes penicillin, they said they couldn't give it to anyone with an allergy even though her gp contacted her to go.
Would love to know what Bill Gates thinks of the daily routine of your grandad now he's chipped him In all seriousness I hope he's had no side effects. Hopefully next week the Oxford one will be ready to be given out.
Despite the fact that the manufacturer was adamant that it couldn't have adverse reactions to allergies Proof beyond all doubt that it isn't fully tested
My dad has his yesterday no problems at all. My Sister also got one last week (unplanned but they had a few spare shots end of the day Friday ) gave her a sore arm for a day but nothing serious. To those who say the vaccine hasn’t been properly tested it’s hard to know if any short cuts have been taken but it certainly has been tested on large groups. I think the benefits far outweigh the risks with this bearing in mind the fact that COVID kills a fair number and had for some people long term effects. It’s not like COVID has been tested on humans either.
My mum had it last week, she asked about allergies and was told it was okay as long as she didn't need an epipen, her allergy is penicillin.
Seems they are rolling it out pretty effectively to 80+ year olds, both our lasses parents have had it this week (Wath). Challenge of course will be the mass rollout to everyone else, but it’s encouraging so far.
Grateful for all your replies. My wife and I are both in our eighties and I just wondered if the jabs had started being done in the area.
