After having 2 in the space of about 5 weeks in October/November (ridiculous if you ask me) the next one is in March, after the 3rd/4th/5th rounds of the FA Cup. Games still coming thick and fast - especially teams that have a good cup run!
Probably a little harsh, but all I can think of is the line from Friends, "that reads like a who's who of human crap".
The January window is always pivotal and its VI's first window to try and influence the shape of the squad. I think its nailed on we'll receive interest in Mowatt, Woodrow and Styles as a minimum and James' initial loan lapses.
Thanks mate. Only a very very vague recollection. Did he play up front in the Easter Friday hammering at home to West Ham?
Poor footballer, but not the worst, hence the reason you probably don't remember him. We only ever remember the good ones and the really bad ones. The ones in between slip through the cracks.
Thanks archey. I think you're right. I've checked wikipedia and it says he "played" 5 games for Barnsley. It's these types of players that only play a few games on loan then disappear that are very hard to remember lol
In my opinion for what it counts....I dont think we are good enough for a top 6 finish at the moment We are too inconsistent and make too many school boy errors at the moment..yes credit where credit is due we are winning scrappy football games so I cant complain really That said with a few quality shrewd signings this next window it could all alter...given the present situation re covid...I personally think it's a good time for the board to actually back the manager and go for it using the majority of the empty stadiums to our advantage plus most clubs are watching the pennies big time....a little gamble could actually work to our favour and level the financial playing field even more than it has done so far....without putting our future at risk The league is wide open and apart from Bournemouth I dont see any major threat... Our problem too many individual mistakes but we are going in the right direction One game at a time ....let's not get carried away ....we are just starting to get our battling Barnsley tag back.....let's hope come January ....its just like watching Brazil that's ringing across the borough
No Premiership clubs will come in for our players in Jan - they're not good enough yet. The only teams that can afford them in our division are the ones with parachute payments - so a handful. We need to set a limit of at least £5m before we even entertain anything.
I just hope a play-off hopeful doesn't see us coming up the rails and sign a couple of our players just to knock us out of the equation. That's happened before with Sheff Wed and Aston Villa. Before that West Ham and Leicester.
If they accept 5m for Woodrow in January, they want shooting. 8 goals, 4 assists before Christmas. 2.5 years left on his contract. Players generally more expensive in January because clubs are more desperate.
I don't know if this will help, but I reckon we need 7 wins and the odd draw from our remaining 27 games to stop up. It'll be reyt!
