Glad I'm not the only one who feels we are too hit and hope at the moment. If we're going to play the long defence splitting ball then we need our better passers doing it - not the back line. We also need some height and presence up front. I'll take ugly wins but it's not pretty.
I have to honestly say I don't see us as a long ball team whatsoever. The passing moves in open play which resulted in our goals against QPR, Derby, Forest and again today against Wednesday simply wouldn't be seen from a long ball team. It's all about opinions, though. I don't see a Wimbledon/Watford/Wednesday long ball side from the '80's in my team. Ah, opinions.
I don't see long ball team either mate. As you rightly say we've scored some great team goals this season. We're mixing up the tactics all right, but long ball team? Not for me
It’s a difficult balance to strike. It’s not that long ago folk were complaining that playing the ball out from the back was too risky. Remember all those short goal kicks?
Certainly do, I would however prefer the defence to try go through the midfield more often. As wev seen we have the players who can certainly play football. Can't really argue with it tho as it is getting the results!
Anyone on here remember that Wimbledon side will no that is a compliment Vinnie Jones was a brilliant footballer who usually took the piss two very good feet and a heart of a Lion He ran that Wimbledon team
Agree with you both, we are mixing it up a little bit more than previously but I see that as no bad thing.
Seems a bit strange we've got lucky 7 times in 11 matches under the new gaffer. I'm beginning to wonder if he knows more about football than me.
Pulis? Probably not after that performance and those comments. Sometimes you've just got to hold your hands up and concede you were beaten by the best team. Like we did after Bournemouth, Brentford and Cardiff games. Show some respect Pulis
We all expected Dave Bassett to play hoofball, so did our opposition. It never happened. We may be more direct than the last couple of seasons, but like Bassetts team it is more than pleasing on the eye. I currently view us as a direct, well-drilled attacking outfit. Very pleased
Extremely happy with the win today. We aren't a long ball team, but I do think we are a bit frenzied at times. I don't know if that was due to the opposition making us play that way, but the last 3 games I watched we don't seem to want to get the ball under control. Seems like every pass has to be one touch. I think we have yet to find that balance between quick counter attack and the tippy tappy stuff. Think it will come, but we aren't there yet. I would be interested to know the av'ge number of passes before losing possession. I suspect it isn't many. That said it was very frustrating previously watching us take 10 passes where 3 would have done.

I think we play good football when we get hold of it. When we don't have options to pass through, we don't mess about with it either, and I've no issue with that
If by long ball we mean getting shut of it in dangerous areas, then I’ll take that. From what I can see, there’s a lot less faffing across the back, which I’m all for. I don’t understand for the life of me why Helik isn’t starting though.
Don't want to listen. Hes a ****. A two faced one whos **** scared of losing but when he does he looks up to it under his nose. Never was suited at Wednesday and never will be
