I don't think more than 45 will be needed to stay up, and we'll have that many by the end of February.
18 games last season - same points as the massives this season To get to 25 points - table on Valentines day - a mere 32 games in
Heady stuff. Need to take every game as it comes now, recruit a decent striker to support Cauley up front and hopefully we can enjoy the remainder of the season, without having to keep looking over our shoulders or relying on other teams in the league to go bust to enable us to survive. I'm a very happy Reds fan tonight, looking forward to the Matchday Recap segment and the comments on Quest from 9pm tonight. Must say, it's great listening to the Wednesday fans squealing on Praise or Grumble on Radio Dee Dar. I believe it's starting to dawn that they haven't got enough talent to get out of the situation they find themselves in. One supporter just been on saying give Pulis time to turn it round in the January window. Is he deluded. ?
Great win. Laura had a football bet and backed us. She daren't tell me because I think it's a jinx backing us. I knew we'd won when she came into living room going yessss at full time. £135 quid. She likes keeping an eye on cash out and I'd got a sneeky suspision when she said there was one dicey one
28/1 to get relegated it's usually odds on. They look spot on with Wycombe at 9/1on but there's value in the de dars at evens
I'm not getting carried away, but in any other season, that second half shot would have come down off the bar and gone in off Walton's arse. That's got to be some kind of omen.
It would. Our luck has changed. QPR, now Wednesday away in the same year. No fans though to celebrate - only down side
25 points from 18 games is 1.39 points per game. If we do the same over the 46 game season, that's 64 points. Last year 64 points was 10th. I would have settled for that at the start. Now I'm looking up not down, but that could depend on the January sales.
As well as the teams performance, I've been impressed with our Coach particularly with the way he makes decisions over substitutes. Mowatt, Chaplin, James, Woodrow and Frieser all put a shift in today but were brought off to save them for next weeks game against Preston. The boys that replaced them acquitted themselves well and we hung on for a well deserved win.
