In a big van, covered in coloured lights. There's a lot of children there with their Mums queueing up to visit him.
    Everyone's safe distancing, too.
I never realised Dodworth was in Lapland!:D
It's great to see so many happy, well behaved, patient children' I'll happily tend to his reindeer if the Top Man wants me to.
    :D:D

I’m moving into my first home in Dodworth in the new year. Very excited. Already joined the community group on Facebook and everyone seems so lovely.

I saw on my Instagram feed yesterday that Santa was about in Dodworth. Is this a new thing?

My Mrs grew up in Glossop, and it's something they've had for years. We went to Manchester Christmas Market last year and stayed over and her mum and dad's house. Santa passed us with his reindeer (although this particular one was called Toyota), and I found it hilarious. She couldn't believe I'd never seen anything like it before. I think it's run by their local fire department as some sort of charity fundraiser.

Santa always used to visit around Grimethorpe, not sure if he still does now or not. He always used to come around on my birthday (2 days before) whilst I was mid party and when my mates heard his music they'd all run out shouting 'santa's here' no matter if we playing pass the parcel, cutting the cake or what. You'd blink and they'd be gone. He did sing Happy Birthday to me once though down the microphone which was funny. We always got a few bars of chocolate handed out after sitting on his knee. I think he used to be on the back of a tractor.

I discovered on Sunday that people who live on one of the nearby streets have tastefully decorated all of their trunks of trees with lights and inflatable candy canes out of their own money.

Looks really quite jolly and uplifting.

Santa's been visiting Silkstone Common for years so I suspect he might have called in at Dodworth on his way home.
