Anyone else watch the UK Championship Final between Bristolian Judd Trump and Aussie
Neil Robertson.? Started at seven o'clock last night and ended five minutes short of one in
the morning. Both players matched each other frame for frame and it was Robertson who
held his nerve to win the title for the third time 10 frames to 9.

You could be forgiven for thinking that when interviewed Trump was a sore loser, but I prefer
to think his attitude was borne out at sheer frustration that he made a basic error in the concluding
frame to let the " Thunder from Down Under" in to wrap the frame and the title up. Well done to both
players and Robertson in particular. After keeping Mark Selby in his seat for long periods in the previous
round, he certainly deserved to win the trophy and the cheque for £200k.

Just glad Trump didn't win. I don't like poster boys being created and that's what they are trying to do with him. He has no appeal at all to me. I don't like Mark Selby either.

I didn't watched the end I felt myself nodding off so went to bed. Both played well below par but it was still good viewing, very tense.

I watched it and both players deserve great credit for some fantastic breaks and unbelievable safety play the only thing that got on my nerves was the time that Robertson was taking before making his shot especially in the last few frames thought the ref might have had a word.

I like Judd. He made me a bit of cash when he came second in 2011. I was following him going into the tourney and put £100 on him to win. Cashed out when he was 10-7 up in the final and won a fair bit

After the game Robertson did say " at times, it was so bad it was good." I agree, I wanted him to win and at
times, the tension was palpable with passages of good and bad play in equal measure.

I like Judd. His cue power is amazing. I couldn't stop up to watch the end though!

Often those are the more enthralling game to watch. It's great to see huge breaks as it makes you appreciate just how good they are. But to see great players battling it out is just as enjoyable.

I was same as you. I not a fan of Trump but in the end Robertson had me climbing up the wall with the time to take a shot. Match ref ought to have had a word.
He walked round table and round table and round table then round again. He had me dizzy. The wife had gone to bed and she was awoken and come to stairs to ask why I was shouting. I was shouting at the Tele. for **** sake make a shot

Yeah, I watched it too, gotta be honest there’s always something about Trump I’ve not liked but never known what it actually was, but thought he came across well last night when interviewed straight away after.

I've a feeling he may be quite shy. I've met him as my daughter wanted a photo with him. He'd been soundly beaten by a relative unknown at a qualifier and I didn't think he'd be amenable to agreeing to the request but he was. And also to the partner of the bloke who beat him!!

Hmm! Hardly a 'poster boy' at the age of 31. It's 15 years since Judd turned professional. He appeared in the 2011 World Championship Final but had to wait until last year for his first World title. Six ranking titles last season, and he became only the second player to make 100 century breaks in a season. Ronnie has made 1,070 centuries but that's in 28 years as a pro. Judd has made 756 in just 15 years.

I think some people take against him because of his demeanor, which I think is mistaken by some for arrogance. But his words after finally winning the World Title in 2019 were humble, and full of appreciation to his family for all the support he has received on his professional journey (cliche alert). His World Number One ranking confirms he is the best player on the circuit at present.

Now Selby, I grant you is a whole different kettle of fish!
