Watching the north London derby. Arsenal 72% possession and losing 2-0. They’re also playing well with quality players.
Arsenal have been a frustrating team to watch for years. They used to be quick and direct, one of my favourite teams to watch with Pires, Vieira and Henry playing. Now they're just typical of the modern day era; happy to keep hold of the ball, playing some nice little sideways passes and rarely attack with any substance. Funny old game football. Arteta was being lauded as the messiah not so long ago, and his departure was accused as the reason behind City's poor form, towards the end of last season. Now it doesn't look like he'll see the season out.
18 goals and 13 assists between them in the league. Probably the same in Cup competitions to be fair as well.
"Nine tenths of the law" they used to say! Actually probably less true today since the 2002 Land Registration Act.
Bang average side. They’ve only got two top quality players & for whatever reason they won’t play one of them. Arteta seems to be getting a bit of stick but it’s a really poor Arsenal side, certainly the worst of my lifetime & he’s won them a cup so deserves plenty of time to rebuild them.
Redknapp was doing my head in during the commentary today when he was suggesting arsenal played well and Kane and son were the difference. Yes, they are both world class, but arsenal didn't even create a goal scoring opportunity. Possession means nothing if you don't create. And yes aubameyang has been poor of late (prob cos he's been played on left wing mainly), but he's still a top top striker.
I can’t help thinking back to the fans wanting Wenger gone as he was holding back the club Classic case of be careful what you wish for
