I thought he did well, which is typical in a match that was over before half time.

We haven't given him much to think about though. He would have sent Anderson off though if that had been at Bournmouth in front of a crowd (if you can call 10,000 a crowd).

Cracking ref tonight was fair throughout, we were outplayed by a team who will be top 3. We caused our own problems but the lads will have learned a lot. I knew after 5 mins we needed an extra midfielder covering the back three and got with just 2 up top. However Val let em play, yes we got battered but we could and should have been level at half time. Always thought tonight after Tuesday was a free swing.

Not trying to absolve Woodrow for the second just before half time but Surridge bought that free kick on the half way line that led up to it. He also deliberately ran across Mads looking for the free kick that led to the third and of course the ref obliged. Yes Mads pushed him but only after he’d been fouled himself.

I normally have no time at all for Mr. Stroud. I said to the current Mrs. DR as soon as I saw he was ref that he thinks he is the most important person on the pitch. I still agree with that but he did have a decent game tonight. One fault that cost us. When Mads gave away the free kick that led to their 3rd, he did have his shirt pulled as he raced back which was not noticed by the ref.

They seemed to be more subtle (sly) with their shirt pulling, probably down to Premier League experience.

He had nothing to do - just the easy game referees like.

I thought he was decent on the whole but ....

solanke blocked helik for their first, which was pretty blatant, and I think Surridge conned him all game including for the free kick that led to their third goal. So two fairly key things he got wrong

Keith Stroud had a very good game. People are saying that their players were 'buying fouls', yes but they are still fouls. Go watch the academy and you will hear coaches shouting to the players "stand him up, don't dive in". We needlessly gave the ball away for three of the goals and Anderson gave away a silly foul from which Rico scored with a well taken free kick. Anderson was lucky, had there been VAR he may have had a red for a reckless tackle. We actually played well, but lost the game through a series of self inflicted errors. The standard of refereeing did not influence the final result.

Nailed it mate. ^^^^^^^^ Was obvious after the first 5/10 minutes. Well b4 the 1st goal.
Best ref I’ve seen this season btw.
The free kick for the 3rd goal was the right decision in real time. Although I thought looking at the replays. Mads was impeded first. Who’d be a ref.

If you are referring to my earlier post actually said ‘bought free kick’.
I didn’t realise the match was on radio Sheffield. You must have had a different few of it on there. :)
Makes no mistake we had a bad day at the office and we’re comfortably beaten by a much better side on the night. But the idea that the ref had a cracking game is just not right.

I watched it on Sky, I don't understand the reference to Radio Sheff. Your four posts are critical of the referee, which in my opinion are well wide of the mark. The only arguable error of judgement was Anderson's yellow card which other refs assessment may have been a red. That's my opinion. I have no problem with you having a different one. We lost to a good team and made several costly mistakes, the refs performance did not influence the result.

Just as I saw it although the third was a daft foul to give away and very amateur. The second goal killed the game however when we were getting on top, and if anything it was a foul on Helik with Surridge backing in.

His bringing the game back to a foul was extremely well done. And at the right times. As refs go. 9.5 out of 10. The 0.5 down to watching replays which he didn’t have privelage of. So what the heck. 10 out of 10.

Put all together my posts were possibly a bit over the top but equally so is the notion that the ref had a good game. Anyways on to the next game.
