Being German isn’t a problem. Supporting Nazis is. BMW made nazi aircraft engines. Mercedes made tank turrets. VW made bombs.

That being said I wouldn’t be seen dead driving a Mini! Hate the things.

Fwiw I don’t think you can judge a modern company on what it did 80 years ago in wartime.

IBM helped the Nazi's to organize their war efforts and the Holocaust to be more "efficient"
Hugo Boss designed uniforms to attract people to the Nazi's.
BAE sell weapons to Saudi Arabia used to kill civilians in Yemen (with the knowledge/permission of the UK government)

    Is there any difference?

Hitler put Jews in concentration camps in Germany (and killed many of them)
Churchill put the Mau Mau in concentration camps in Germany (and killed some of them) - in the 1950s!

    Is there a difference?

Obviously I mean Kenya for Churchill - we weren't building concentration camps in Germany in the 50s! - just Kenya and Malaya.

Most people also don’t know Henry Ford was an ardent Nazi supporter in the early part of the war.
Agree on last part (was sort of why i put Mini)

There were plenty of supporters of fascism in the UK in the 1930s - including the Daily Mail and Daily Mirror. If it hadn't been for the outbreak of war, we would have seen at least some BUF MPs in the 1940 election. Possibly even enough to form the government - or as part of a coalition. If the war had been delayed a few years, Hitler and Mussolini could have been joined in partnership by Mosley and saved the lives of millions of people - at a cost of millions of different people.

I agree mostly to that, but, I would have thought that Hugo Boss would have the sensitivity not to sponsor the awards and for GQ to have nous to decline their offer of sponsorship. No doubt £s & $s speak louder than morality.

I hope he had sense not to shave before using his aftershave.
