Forget Cauley and Mowatt. Good as they both are.

Jack Walton will make us a fortune in January. He's (early days) up there with the best keepers we've had. Bold statement like...........

Won us more points this season than our attacking players and also last season post lockdown we'd have been down without his performances.

Kettlewell, sir ronald and walestyke like this.

I like Walton, but there’s no chance he’s worth more than Cauley - or any other championship striker that scores more than 10 goals a season.

Teams simply don’t pay as much for a goalkeepers. Also, Woodrow

Which is daft , as you say a good goalkeeper can make more of a difference than a striker. But the striker is the glamour role and will always be on more money

I'm hoping, now there's less money in football due to the effects of the Covid-19 response, and with more resolve from the board, we can once again view our squad as players rather than assets.

We'll always sell someone, every club does, but we don't have to sell everyone.

To be fair, we only sold one in the summer, but can you imagine playing this formation with a front 3 of Brown, Moore and Woodrow. We'd be frighteningly good.

Not taking anything away from the lad at all as he’s been brilliant for us, but did anyone else notice that when they had that shot at the near post the commentators were praising Walton massively for the save but it was actually Styles that got in the way and blocked it. He did pull off some outstanding saves though to keep us in the game, ie the header from Lyle Taylor.
