Dodgy cover albums on the Pickwick label sold in Woolies.
Suppose they were the early 70s version of Now that’s what I call music albums.
    But they were dreadful.
    Own up. Who had one?

I did. Dreadful music but the album covers had other uses!

Went to town to buy Jeepster by TRex.

Saw it listed on one of those albums, along with a number of other songs I liked so bought the album to get better value from my pocket money.

Hurried home. Put it on the turntable straight away and then tried to work out why none of the songs sounded like they did on the radio. Read the small print on the album cover and promptly went apeshit. What a waste of money.

    My
Used to buyvthem years ago what a load of croc :D
I wouldn’t say equivalent was the Now albums though as they at least feature the original Artist and Track :)I’d say the KTel versions were more like the Now Albums

All I could afford then Ian tbh bought three .
Really early on I think they may have been amongst the first ones out , with I think Band of Gold being the most recent song on them so probably 69-70 , no excuse but it were either them or mi mams Slim Whitman :D

I got bought a couple of Hot Hits and Top if the pops albums as Birthday or Xmas pressies by Aunts and Uncles along with the K-Tel original artist ones. Only good thing about the Hot Hits and TotP ones were the covers. The K-Tel ones were ok to listen to but the covers were not as interesting
