This one is not on the industrial estate. It is the old rockingham centre at hoyland and across the road.

There was some things on this thread about the Hermes site.

Former Frankie & Benny’s at Stairfoot...

I saw three versions of the masterplan.

1.The new bypass bridged Tankersley Lane and the connection to Hoyland Common crossroads was kept.

    2. The connection from Hoyland Common crossroads was kept in addition to a connection with the new bypass.

    3. A junction was created with the new bypass and the connection from Hoyland Common crossroads was severed and made pedestrian only.

The plan I shared earlier clearly shows option 3. As far as I’m aware, this is the agreed option. I’d assume a weight limit will be applied to stop Hermes traffic using the road. I doubt they could navigate the sharp bend on there anyway.

Having to work ( full time) and be topped up by the state to be able to keep a roof over your head. Feed and clothe your family. Basic needs. Is abhorrent in a civilised society. The latest situation over Covid will be used and abused. Employers taking advantage and going to the lowest possible minimum requirement. Regardless of what a job is really worth. As it will be a bunfight of those in desperate need. Putting the onus on the state to provide a meagre standard of living. And the tories will not bat an eyelid.

This Govt intends to run the Singapore on Thames model. They have said it openly. That involves removing the weak employment rights we have.

Workhouse in all but name, then they wonder why prisons are full, crime on the increase.......but we took on 20,000 new cops on lesser terms than their colleagues and they're either no good or won't be human punch bags for our failed policies.

    Yes let’s.
The EU are minimum requirements. This lot will strip those minimum requirements and you of your rights at the drop of a hat to protect their backers. ( farage n’all hates workers rights) Hope I’m still around. But I don’t think you’ll have to wait 5 years. Believe me it’s happening already. Stripping of rights. Just take a look at British Gas. Fire and rehire. Threats of 45/60/90 days notice if you don’t toe the line. Companies not recognising unions in the workplace. Take a look at the Nordic countries. Actually encouraging union membership.
    Get ready.
So let’s visit again in 5 yrs time. But hopefully these horrible tories won’t be in power.

    I don’t think I did?

This is a thread from almost a year ago, where I merely posted about Hermes opening a new warehouse in the town.
