Confirms we aren’t looking for out of contract strikers and with the return to fitness of Woodrow and the ‘emergence of Adeboyejo’ he’s happy to go with what he has for now.

    Oh lovely.

The ‘emergence of Adeboyejo’ better not stop them strengthening in that area in January. Suspect it will though.

If the communication was along the lines of "we haven't found anyone we believe meets our requirements as yet but we are still looking and will act if the right player comes along" then I'd be reasonably happy. I don't expect a signing for the sake of one BUT it's bloody obvious we need someone else and if he's happy to go with what he has then I'm already questioning his judgement.
As per endless conversations on here, without Woodrow we're massively short, even with him we're still lacking. What happens if he gets injured again? And the reference to the 'emergence of Adeboyejo' is laughable to be honest - a cameo of 28 minutes represents an emergence now apparently! There's absolutely no doubt in my mind that we'll be moaning about how short we are up front many more times before the window opens in January.

I've been banging the drum for a new striker for a long time, and maybe I'm just in an uncommonly good mood, but I'm inclined to look at this a bit more positively. The manager's only been here for a matter of days - by "emergence of Adeboyejo" maybe that means he's had a look at him in training and has seen enough to start giving him more game time?

What a joke. I said it at the time when Murphy mentioned it that it was all 'hot air' to appease the fans. I bet this guy doesn't see the season out.

I didn’t honestly think we’d be looking at free agents, at this time of year.

Apologies, I’d read both but it was andy giddings who used the language ‘emergence of Adeboyejo’ - I’m hoping they are his words and not a quote from a club source.

They have provided a constant stream of hot air in relation to Strikers we might sign. Absolutely misleading fans. Dont want to spend any money if they cant see a return in the long term. January transfer window the pantomime will start again.

Can you point me in the direction of this "constant stream of hot air" please. All I've known in the last 8 weeks or so are two updates from Dane Murphy. One the week before Valerien was appointed and the other was about 10 days before Struber left

Maybe we can play Woodrow up top on his own, as he is our only proven striker and play with wingers instead.

Edit: Just remembered we don't have any decent wingers either.

It isn't the first time they've reckoned to look at free agents since Kieffer left.

I admit, selling Moore wasn't the best of deals or the best of timings, and we definitely need some more quality. However they have never repeatedly told us they are looking at free agents since.

I can recall the last Dane Murphy report definitely said it and the one before may have touched on it. Other than that I can't recall being told we're looking at free agents.

Would that be the striker who when put clean through on goal on Tuesday instead of shooting he ran to the goal line stopped and passed it back to no one?

Ive nothing against Victor and he at least is prepared to get his shorts dirty but - though I wouldnt claim to be an expert - to my eyes he isnt even close to being ready for Championship football. Id rather stick Halme up there than Victor at least he knows where the goal is

BBC Radio Sheffield sports bulletin jjust said that Cauley and Callum might be fit to face PRESTON on Saturday.

What is is with BBC reporting? Littered with errors on a regular basis.

Sorry, but Adeboyejo has the touch of a bricky's apprentice. Was absolutely hopeless when he came on. Lad is a L2 player, at least at the moment.
