I didn’t notice on Saturday but having watched the Matchday highlights again today I noticed the referee puts his whistle to his mouth when Helik is challenged in the box in the first half. Makes you wonder if we are just not aggressive enough in pushing for these decisions. It looks like he’s gonna blow and it couldn’t have been for anything else??
It was a difficult one. It didn't seem much different to the one we got last week with Sollbauer. There seemed to be a stray elbow, however none of the camera angles got a good view of it.
Did Sollbauer feign a serious injury against Stoke? What about the red card that Frieser went down for that was rescinded?
In the seen then given category but no where near as blatant as the one on Solbauer last week - their guy was making a genuine challenge for the ball - arguably his arm was raised but he didnt flatten Helik long after the ball had gone. I didnt think it was one to be honest I actually thought the challenge on Mowatt a few minutes ealier was a better case for a penalty the defender went straight through him from behind to get to the ball - injuring Mowatt in the process
The terminology these days is that you "win" fouls or penalties. Which says to me you have to put effort in to get it.
