When the ref issued the red card to the Stoke player he pushed the referee's arm out of the way, not one word said about his behaviour, strange that eh? That's a sending off.
I thought it was him getting the red card for jostling the ref. Should at least have got a yellow if you were being lenient.
A brilliant bit of "simulation" to "draw" a foul, in other words cheating was about the only thing he did. Wonder what is wages are and how Stoke are affording them??
I was just thinking the same when watching the replay. Funny how the player who put is hand on the female linesperson was all the talk last week.
The view on the red button coverage wasn't great at all, so I had no idea what the red card was for. I've not seen any angles that show the moment when Frieser went down, so we might not be able to evaluate that, but seeing that footage of Mikel, thats a red card without doubt. You can't do that with an official. All I can think is that the referees adrenaline is pumping a bit after the red card and he's just not clocked the severity of what happened. Either that or he's deposited in his pants. There was the much heralded "respect" campaign against officials, looks like thats long forgotten.
Totally agree DR. Should have been a straight red. You can't allow players to get away with bad mouthing and mishandling officials, just because they don't agree with the decisions the referee or his assistants have given.
