Has anybody actually bothered to read the Ebay advert ? Selling... "One footballer, scores goals when in correct position. Offers will be considered and Ebay will reduce the Buy It Now price by 10% per week to encourage potential purchasers. Auction lasts 7 days and will be relisted up to 8 times until the sellers agree to accept anything at all." Postage and Packing... I just don’t understand why these asset stripping owners that are bleeding the club dry would want to make less money.
I don't get the label of asset strippers. Unless they got their hands on the ground and then did something untoward with it. If you strip assets, you do so for profit above all else. They've paid lots of money on new players (lots of them), which they wouldn't do if they were intent on extracting profit from selling everything and anything. I've many doubts about their competence and intent, but they certainly don't appear to be purely stripping assets for personal financial gain at this time.
I was being sarcastic, if that wasn’t clear. It just makes me laugh that the same people that claim they’re asset stripping are also complaining that they don’t get enough money for players. Those statements are not compatible.
6 of Grant's 19 goals were penalties last season. 2 of Woodrow's 15 were penalties. 13 non-penalty goals each, both in struggling sides. If he does go, I'd be willing to bet we won't even get 1/5th of what Grant has just been sold for.
I totally agree with you, there is no evidence at all of asset stripping, there is clearly a desire to be successful in player trading and improve the overall playing standard, The signing of Sollbauer showed that the desire is there to retain Championship status and the financial benefit that goes with retaining Championship status. Nobody would want to deliberately lose money but intentions and competence don't always equate to the same outcome. Let's hope the owners know a thing or two more than this board and go on to great success, which I think we all want.
