So our spiel to Cardiff should be "look, we are finding it really hard to shop for replacements at this point in time - up your offer for CW to allow as to at least be able to go shopping before the window shuts tomorrow".
I agree with your a), b) and d) but re c) - it's the clubs money rather than theirs though isn't it? They are the decision makers as to when we spend it, what / who we spend it on etc but they can't just withdraw it. I think what a lot of people find it difficult to understand is that based on sales made and on comments DM has made there is money to spend but they seem unwilling / unable to spend it. I suspect it's more unable - likely at least in part (I think there are also other reasons) because the players they want won't come for the money we're willing to pay them. But irrespective of the cause, they need to address the problem. We will not progress otherwise. Having said that, I hope we get 2/3 over the line (and no sales) before 5pm tomorrow!
Agree wholeheartedly! It's the clubs money more than the individual who said they should just spend it regardless! I hope we get 2 or 3 in, with no outgoings as well!
I think progression is out of the question now. I'll breathe a sigh of relief if we come out of this window only marginally weaker than last season.
I meant medium to long term progress or progress at all rather than short term progress tbh. I haven't given up hope just yet and Wolfe leaving suggests that they may be close to getting someone in, at least I hope it does. Back to the original topic - maybe there's been a breakthrough on Whiteman?
Well done to Donny. They hold out for the correct fees unlike our spineless board who flog anyone for 2m. Maybe they might eventually realise that we are the only club that rolls over at the first sign of cash and maybe other clubs are not as stupid. Signs this week the penny might be dropping with bids knocked back for Woodrow (allegedly).
Was the lad that played for Celtic and Rangers we were linked with earlier in the summer a midfielder?
I agree only today i was thinking will we end up at the end of this transfer window significantly better in terms of our first Team and squad, same, slightly worse or significantly worse. Hovering between last two. Only a few weeks ago i compared start of last season squad with this and felt we were better but gone backwards since then.
I can’t imagine that any club is actually better off post-covid, regardless of how much cost cutting they have done. I think it’s also highly likely that we are still covering some of the wages of the players we’ve loaned out.
It’s a pigging manager we want, who in their right mind is going to sign for a rudderless ship. This lot haven’t got a fking clue!
Reason I think it's him is he was linked at the same time as Aitchison and just have a feeling we'll still sign him.
No.. what they've done is sold a player for a decent whack and reinvested some of it on two or three first team ready players.. Showing our tinpot setup, how its done.
