I’m on a 6S which I’ve had about five years so going to treat myself to a new 12 mini soon. Word to the wise. Not only with a 7 or 8 likely have a bad battery by now, the iOS support may stop in the next 12 months or so, meaning you’d have to upgrade to continue to get the latest protection etc.
Not entirely true, battery replacements are very common with iPhone and cheap so you find a lot have already done this. If OP makes sure to ask current battery health % before buying (aim for over 90%) he will be fine. Also iPhone 7 is still supported so 8 certainly will be for at least another year or two.
l wouldn't buy another iphone 8. They have a common screen freeze problem/goes black/won’t switch on and possibly all of these. A repair kit was issued for models sold in the UK during a certain timescale, sorry I can’t remember when. Abroad, we took one to a repair shop for a replacement screen after a third of it stopped working. Repaired, it wouldn’t charge. After a factory reset we managed to charge it then it went black and then refused to switch on again. The repair shop gave up and replaced the phone.
ive got an IPhone 8 Plus. That I was gonna send off to Apple but haven’t got round to. Need to get some work stuff off it and reset to factory but might suit your lad. message me if you’re interested.
Just to add, the 7 onwards don’t have a conventional headphone socket, so he’ll need a pair with a lightning connector, or the little adapter thing, which are prone to getting lost!!!
Hi mate, yes I have an iPhone 8 Plus available that's in very good condition, and it's RED! Even better! Drop me a DM if you're interested.
