Because of his dispute regarding the ownership of the club. Has James taken his ball home and told the rest of the directors that they can go ballax. As we know James is the guy with the spread sheets that identifies potential recruits. If he has stopped working at the club - then that would be disastrous - and it would greatly explain the inability of the club to bring in the much needed players. I might be grasping at straws here - but I think something has gone seriously wrong at the top end of the club.
Also, if he is still there, do you think he has ever made Conway a coffee and discreetly gozzed in it?
It has......Conway and co .....they no pay......not like you not to know that nudge.....lol Joking apart......Theres something seriously wrong il give you that...but this spreadsheet recruitment hasn't only just started failing as it to be fair ....
I've seen this rumour. What difference would it really make? Nobody identifies a target now do they really? Our list of Scenario A and Scenario B would have been drawn up in March and then we didn't have any football for three months. The Head of Recruitment being on furlough, assuming that's linked to scouting, is probably going to impact the players we go after this time next year.
The title implies control over the whole recruitment process to me. If I saw the role pop up on a job site and fancied applying I'd certainly assume that I wouldn't be going on any holidays while the transfer window was open...
Fair. I'm just trying to think what impact that has now. We know through almost every previous transfer that we identify players, monitor them, and don't appear to make knee jerk signings. I just wonder, worryingly, if this person being on furlough hurts us much more in the long term than it does right now.
But is that even still working? Has he taken his laptop home and locked it away until they get the money they are owed
If it makes no difference why do we have one. We have one because it makes a difference. Not just to Chuck a wage at someone.
After watching the clip of Van de Watering and Doug O’Kane on BBC Look North last night - who said something on this issue - then there could actually be some truth in this i.e. the dispute between the owners is getting in the way of a proper recruitment drive. With just 17 players available - and a long hard season with injuries and suspensions in front of the players - if there are differences (and it’s a big IF) then for the sake of the club these directors need to put those difference aside and start to act more professionally.
