and sealed before the days out Barnsley FC have known for a week they were possibly going to have to find a new coach and have definitely known since 17.30 on Saturday afternoon when Struber gave the board both barrels. That's how you do it Dane it's called being proactive.
And yet the board haven't lined anybody up to replace Struber even though they knew he was leaving last week like I said be proactive not reactive, it would be much easier to sign players with the manager in place unless of course they don't intend signing any more players this window
Team rebuilt for flair and attacking football brings in guy known for percentage football and rigid structures. Loads of money spent, either a short lived appointment or another costly rebuild. Yet another team who are a financial headcase
I can't believe what I am reading here. Forest named their man an half hour after the sacking and people on here think that this board has no integrity.
It’s down to forest being a bigger club and spunking money at it, you know it isn’t the fault of the owners, you just can’t help yourself blaming them for every little thing. you reckon Chien and Paul started covid?
Forest are a big club who are repeatedly willing to spend money they don't have to get back to the greed league. I'd imagine it was an easy choice for Hughton who won't really care if they fail and go bust. That's not a criticism of Hughton, he's a good manager but it's another rinse and repeat job for him.
No the point is the board knew Struber was likely to leave so why hadn't they got somebody ready to announce. It's nothing to do with integrity because we weren't sacking Struber he was leaving of his own free will. It's called being proactive.
As they weren't sacking GS, they couldn't line up a replacement until he left. He confirmed his decision to leave yesterday afternoon (officially). I know it looked odds on that he was going, but it'd look a bit odd if they had a replacement lined up, but then GS stayed. Cue more legal action
You have no idea what the board has or hasn't been doing. There could be an announcement today, next week, or next month. No-one knows yet, so what's the point in criticising? Not every appointment can happen overnight. You can't just send out a couple of big blokes with a sack and say, "Go bring back Jose Mourinho".
and if we've agreed everything with the new guy and something goes wrong with the struber deal or he changes his mind what happens then?, do we sack him and loose out on £1.8m or do we dump the other guy knowing full well its only a matter of time before gs is off again
Tbf we had every right to sack Struber after Saturday as his head obviously wasn't in it, let alone his heart, if we had someone lined up.
Why sack him on Setdi when £1.8 million is just a couple of days away? Come to think of it maybe that's what he was angling for - goad them into sacking him and save his new employers a chunk of cash
