They track where you are then every month they send you a map with a summary of your movements and places you've visited. As @TonyTyke says it's equally interesting and alarming usually but right now it's not exactly informative. Ooh look, I was at home all yesterday. And the day before...
I went mountaineering on the Lincolnshire coast yesterday, fishing in Derbyshire the day before and visited a communal bbq in Devon the day before that. Thing is, I left my phone at home. Doesn't really work, does it.
In 10, 20, 50? years time we'll all have a chip implanted which will track us . No need for bank pins, debit/credit card/cash, we'll just scan as we go.
I turned it off in settings. Doesn't mean to say they are not tracking me, I just don't get a report anymore!
It's a bit like my Google Calendar. Everyday I wake up it says: "You have no events today". Groundhog day.
Moved my car back a bit on the drive the other day, it said traffic is light, Grove Street is a 14 minute drive..... it’s almost daring me!
I’m hating the you have memories bit. Keep showing pictures of football matches and good times in the pub.
My life may not be particularly Instagrammable and I am in quarantine but still, these monthly updates from Google Maps are really beginning to make me think I may have taken a few wrong turns somewhere along the way (no pun intended).
