    2 reasons:

    1. Almost pure capitalism run riot - the whole culture is grounded in punching down to climb up.
    2. American cultural exceptionalism. Flags everywhere, pledge of allegiance mandatory, overwhelming propaganda, learning nothing of other cultures, etc etc.

    Mostly number 1 at fault here. To be a hugely successful businessman in the US, you need to be a bit of a narcissistic sociopath.

    This is totally correct...

    Capitalism and ignorance in spades. The second point of flag worship they find that sort of thing crazy, but for some reason it’s ok if it’s the Stars and Stripes... the education system is set up to brainwash and assimilate...
