It's been 133 years. We've given it a good go. There's only so many years of relentless disappointment that can be sat through before we decide enough is enough. Shall we just fold it and do something more fun with our time? How about cricket? Rugby? Hell, let's go mad - where do Barnsley Hockey Club play?
You are not the only one thinking like that. If things don’t pick up by the end of this transfer window then I for one will be asking for a refund on the ST.
You could go and support Rochdale and another 40 or 50 clubs if you can't do with the relentless disappointment
I don't think it's relentless disappointment. We've known the transfer policy and how the club is run since just before Cryne sold it. GG did an interview. The same goes for fans as it does perspective Head Coaches.
I don't think the transfer policy is the problem. Nor do I think the owners are on the take. Our problem in the transfer market is sheer incompetence. Failure to address the problem areas of the squad (full back, defensive mid, targetman) means we're probably more likely to be relegated than survive, in turn, slashing the potential sale value of the majority of our players.
Just because we know it doesn't mean we have to like it. We also know because Dane told us that all of the brown transfer money would be spent on transfers in, I'm still waiting to see any of it spent and the European window closes today the domestic one in 2 week's now would be the best time to bring new players in with two weeks with no game due to the international break why do we appear to be dragging our heels and waiting till the last minute to bring players in.
I'd say so. I know there were people annoyed at selling Potts in the 18/19 season, but we never had anything like this when Ganaye was here.
We're in meltdown because a journo says we're not signing anyone. Does Doug O' Kane have carte blanche on everything Barnsley F.C?
The policy isn't the problem the way it's implemented is. The new lot changed it to a more European focused search looking for bargains that up to now they don't appear to have found. I can't see any teams bidding millions to take Anderson Riztmeier etc of our hands like they did Pinnock Lyndsey Mawson Roberts McDonald, Houriane etc and they'd certainly not make a signing like Adam Hammill who was the right player at the right time but broke the policy rules but was needed.
No most are in melt down as you put it because to most it's blindingly obvious where the problems lie within the squad all the local journos who watch a lot of football see them the last 3 managers have seen them and asked for them to be fixed but whether it's the recruitment team the board the CEO or some mixture of all 3 to blame they haven't been fixed. Take the example most people mention the need for a target man we've had nearly two full windows to acquire a replacement for Moore and we haven't and to make matters worse the board sanctioned the sale of the young lad whose tried his heart out trying to fulfill that role. I'm not sad Strubers leaving he got lucky last season BUT so did the board again and I wish they were following Struber out of the door
