Or that family from the 1800s that loaned us Oakwell, tell us to **** off - they're going to farm the land instead.

If you're doing it right you shouldn't have to put anything in, that's what self sustaining is all about. We would be ****** fan owned and slide out of the football league.

So who takes over then? We were up for sale for 10 years, Cryne had an Italian consortium watch us that didn't have any money - only interest in ten years.

Didn't we get to the premier league when we were fan owned?

Not quite the same, as you know. And 20 years ago, finances have somewhat changed.

Why isn't it? Many fans owned the club and a board of directors made up of fans who had business knowledge made the decisions

Whatever one's views about the team per se the board have done nothing at all to seriously improve it. It's been wing and a prayer stuff overall and the club got lucky last season. The financial 'buy cheap and sell when any decent offer comes in' policy of the board doesn't work at this level. The team need two-three decent signings and we just won't get em.

And we were tipped to drop the promotion season to the prem as we hardly spent anything, rather mixed canny older pros with decent British youthful talent. This for me is the only way for Barnsley to operate at this level and have any chance of success when we’ll only offer ten Bob and a blackies egg for players. Sadly it seems that’s dropped to 4 Bob and a spuggies egg under these shyster bull- billionaires

See the edit above, he was a fan with a 500k fortune at the time when you got £5m for promotion. So equivalent to having about £25m fortune today, how many fans have we got with that money?

    None.

Ultimately we’ve got two players that are championship standard, Mowatt & Woodrow. A few of the others have shown promise on occasion but other than Wycombe & probably Rotherham they wouldn’t get games at other championship clubs.

Struber somehow dropped on a formation that worked & helped keep us up despite having inferior players but then we went & sold the most important player in that system & still haven’t replaced him.

Without that replacement 4th bottom would be a fantastic finishing position for us this season. I don’t see any other formation of team selection that would suddenly make us much better.

Disagree. The tactics and formation we played last season didn't work, we were awful to watch, luck worked

Disagree about Mowatt being a good Championship player tbh .
Nothing comes of his free kicks his decision making is atrocious, he’s not comfortable on the ball he doesn’t lead by example when the chips are down or drive us forward when we need it .
His display today is typical of his captaincy .

I liked a lot of the football under Struber.

There was a poor spell between January & lockdown but I thought when he first took over & post-lockdown the football was good.

I watched a different game. He was the only player playing good passes forward. He’s very comfortable on the ball. Him, Styles & Woodrow are the only 3 players we’ve got who can carry a ball forward. Everyone else looks like they’re in panic mode just trying to get rid of it ASAP.

The free kicks aren’t Mowatt’s fault either. He doesn’t decide who takes them, that’s the managers job. If we don’t have a set piece expert go & sign one. That’s the clubs responsibility.

And whenever he lets anyone else take one they tend to be just as bad anyway.

Having a designated set piece taker is a vital part of a team. Like having a striker with some kind of physical presence which we don’t seem to bother with either.

Well if you saw a captain that was leading by example and driving a team forward and breaking play up I’d suggest you were watching Morsy imo and he’s wasted in that team .
