3 in 3 for Patterson, probably the sort of player we’re missing

 

I think it’s a great bit of business.

He looks a class act to me.

Liverpool reserve isn’t a negative thing. Basically means he’s behind Firminho & Origi for the strikers role. No shame in that.

He’s still a kid & was one of the best players in the championship last season. Already played for England at youth levels & played along side McBurnie at Swansea. Both them & Sheff Utd both play passing football & I think I’m right in saying both regularly play 3-5-2. Seems a perfect fit.

In terms of value for money I’d say he’s much better value than Watkins & the lad Palace have signed from QPR - younger & more ability in my opinion.

Rhian Brewster is a massive talent and will make them money in my opinion.

 

I’m not disputing his talent or that he might develop into something special. I’m only commenting on the eye-watering fee demanded for a player who has not yet broken into the first team, and that teams like Sheffield United are prepared to spend that kind of money on a kid.

Just another illustration of all that is wrong with the game these days.

 

They did pay around 20m for Mcburnie and he's been absolutely slaughtered by blades fans recently. Apparently they paid way too much for him, he's **** and lower championship standard at best.

 

I think we could have told them that! Good as he was for us, at the time, I never really saw him as anything better that that.

 

He did OK for them last season.
