In hindsight (which is a wonderful thing by the way) it wasn't the best idea to have Hendrie as player manager was it. The joker in the pack turned manager, didn't work unfortunately.

No it didn't. He played himself out of vanity instead of Fjortoft and outlawed Clint Marcelle. He played Sean Mclare and Michael Turner in midfield and thought Mike Sheron and Bruce Dyer were good replacements for Ashley Ward and Fjortoft. I'd have sooner played Georgi Hristov.

And offloaded Liddell, who I think went onto be a record goalscorer for two different clubs. Still think we'd have made the play offs if we'd kept Ward though, and been able to play him, Dyer and Hignett for any length of time.

    Massive missed opportunity.

That's not quite the picture though is it YT.

    - Three games in against 3 of the worst sides in the Division and 1 point.
    - No goals.
    - Sold another striker under contract just before the start of the season - again.
    - No new signings coming in.
    - Club looking at the possibility of re-location
    - Coach looking at the possibility of relocating first - again.
    - Board suing each other in the Courts.
    - Fans at each others throats.

It's not a great picture is it really. Although I do accept that on the plus side, I'm reliably informed that the flush system in the lavatory outside gangway 5 in the Ponty has been fixed.

How do you know who the three worst sides are, after only three games?

That's a very fair question and I was going to write a facetious answer saying simply 'I saw them'. But then someone would come back and say 'on the evidence of those games don't you mean 4 of the worst sides in the Division' .

So let me just say "not necessarily THE three worst sides but likely to be among the worst sides."

Well yep I get that. Just most clubs tend to have replacement either agreed or signed before letting players out. We have done exactly the same as last season now scrambling around to find a replacement. Jacob would have understood that I’m sure. Sadly currently we look a worse team than what we finished with last year.

I never rated Moore and his miss at Leeds still sticks in my mind. I also never rated Brown and think the club sold the worst of the three jewels in the crown. If somebody had said to me the club had only sold Brown at the beginning of the summer and added to the squad I'd have snatched their hand off.

You are entitled to disagree with my 'picture' and paint your own (with black paint it seems) but don't tell me my picture isn't 'the' picture I painted. Mine is always going to be painted with vivid colours, where hope springs eternal, where all things are possible. :D

It's still a more realistic picture than the one you're projecting. Yours is just a doomsday scenario. There were a lot of those kinds of prophecies on here from June thru July. When they didn't come to pass, these people then moved onto the next potential pitfall.

That's fine, by the way. People will be as people are. But we aren't the same people. So I'm quite happy with my picture buddy. :)

It's the way I am. It's not for everyone. But a good few years ago, something happened in my life that altered my way of thinking, changed how I approached things. And whilst life is always a challenge I try to maintain an attractive and positive outlook. It works for me.

Whilst everybody is lntitled to their opinion I agree Dalestyke was in the main stating facts the only opinion was he thought the team's we'd played were the 3 worst that may be argued but apart from that it was pretty much bang on and fact not opinion
We have got 1pt from 3 games
We did sell a contracted player
The board sorry 80% of the board are actively considering relocation to another town.
The 20% are taking the 80% to court
We haven't signed the players the manager says he still needs
The manager is considering relocating to NY I'm sure in part because of the above. It might be painting it black but maybe that's because blacks the right colour to paint it.

Who are these 'most clubs' you refer to? Do you have any examples. There must be loads if most clubs do it.

We've sold one player. Isn't that a lot less than normal? Isn't that what fans have often suggested is best practise?

We haven't brought in a dozen players this summer. There are a variety of reasons for that, but again, wasn't it often said that we should steer clear of yearly squad development?

That's not quite a fair picture of me or what I was saying Andy. I can see vivid colours and recognise the positives when they come out but I do tend to base at least some of my views on the evidence that comes out of the Club's 'leadership'. It isn't good and hasn't been good for some time. More importantly (and to get off the fence) I've come to a view it's unlikely to get better under the current ownership. We'll see.

Mate, you responded to me. I was replying to John Peachy when he referenced the need for more senior players. My response was based mainly on that. On the fact we'd actively increased the age/experience of our squad over the last year or so. I then suggested we were just three games into the season and wasn't seeing the doomsday scenario that's often projected on here. I did accept we lacked an out-ball up front, and that we'd probably be trying to rectify that.

That was my reply to John.

You then responded to that, hours later saying that's not quite the picture before bullet pointing a lot of perceived issues.

Now, for starters, I didn't speak about six of those eight bullet points. So I'm not sure you're being fair yourself. I did refer to two things that you bullet pointed - the goals or lack of. See my comment about an out-ball.

So in essence buddy, I think there's been crossed wires.

So would I, but either of them significantly improves our current options up top. Plus given that we failed to even sign so much as a coat rack to replace Moore I'm not holding my breath for mind-blowing incomings...
