Difficult to remain optimistic at a time like this, but with Anderson and Helik back (I believe), and presuming they go straight back in the team (after the Chelsea debacle), I think we'll be much more solid at the back.

I'm going 1-0, with a Helik goal from a corner. We looked threatening from set pieces before the red cards at Reading, and I think they could be a good source of goals this season.

    0:1 glass half full

Not a good match up for us, long ball, pressure the defence. Can see us having lots of possession, looking good but no cigar. Hope I’m wrong

Here's the Coventry City fan perspective

They essentially think they'll football us to death and win comfortably. They've been creating chances at will, but been a little wasteful in front of goal, sound familiar?

We're generally better against the teams who like to play football, permitting Gerhard picks the right team.

One of our fans on their forum vigorously defending us after our performance at Reading.

Things click up front. 2-0 to us, and the season up and running.

Has Mark Robins changed his style of play because I thought he was renowned for setting teams up solidly and playing a direct game? Not sure how they've come to the conclusion they will football us to death unless he now plays a possession based game.
IMO we need to get the first goal, if we do that then the confidence will start to flow and I think we will go on get our first league win. If we concede first then we will lose.

Hoping for 6-0 to Cov. Then I can spend the weekend convincing myself that I'm glad Struber's off.

    No shots on goal.
Game spoilt by the wind will be the excuse.

The only time I've ever considered not going to games was under Mark Robins. The football was so dire, even if we were still picking up results and never really looked in threat of relegation, that I just wasn't getting any enjoyment out of going.

No manager before or since has made me feel like that, and I include Jose Morais and the 2nd coming of Danny Wilson in that too.

Love us to win obviously but I worry just where the goals are going to come from. 0-1 I fear.....

    1. Robins is the very reason I stopped going to away games.

    2. Lee Johnson???? He is the very reason my wife stopped going to Home games.

I think the saving grace for Lee Johnson was that he had some very good players under him, albeit often underperforming. We were having 25-30 shots in games and losing 1-0.

Whilst on paper the team under Robins wasn't bad, there were no real standout performers that made me think 'god I can't wait to get back to Oakwell'. Hugo Colace winning player of the year epitomised that 'era' for me.
