I would much rather take three points against Coventry on Saturday than win in the Caraboa cup against multimillionaires Chesea. The league remains our priority ,so picking up points is our only concern and that included the FA cup too. I hope the reds hold that opinion too. Three points on Saturday and I'll be more than happy .

It's a known fact that Coventry are one of our " bogey" teams. I'm usually optimistic about our
prospects, but I have a feeling we won't win on Saturday. Personally, I'd take a draw just to
get a point on the board. Sense it's going to be a long hard old season unless the board don't
accede to Gerhards request and sign some proven quality, capable of holding their own in the Championship.

Never supported that bogey team idea. If we play to our abilities and have the run of play we can win. Listwning to our head coach,I do hope the board support Struber in the transfer market with more conviction than they did with D Stendel. He stated after tonights match what the side needs so he is hoping the board do respond otherwise he may do what Stendel did when he realise he was flogging a dead horse...and more on.

Scoring a goal would be a start

Despite what some of the doom mongers think, we've been pretty good in every game except Luton. It will click in front of goal, and defensively, with the exception of last night we've only conceded once with eleven men on the field. Somebody is in for a proper pasting at some point. I suspect that might well be Coventry.

Aye Coventry will roll over and have their belly tickled. People talk about some fixtures like it's a formality. No wonder it's suicide central after defeats.

We've now played them on sixty six separate occasions. Out of those games we've
Won 18 Drawn 19 and Lost 29 .When I worked , one of my colleagues Derek who was born
in Coventry used to join me in the East Stand whenever we played the Sky Blues.

I don't know why , but when he accompanied me, I never ever saw the Reds win.
He probably was a bad omen for us, because he went to live with his daughter in
Scotland, the next time we played them was in League One in 2015 and we
    won 1-0.

If there is no such thing as s bogey team why is it that we have such a poor record against Wednesday?

There are definitely bogey teams - no good explanation for it but there are - we are also a bogey team to some other sides, Millwall for example must dread playing us in recent years
Coventry have been a bogey team when we play them in Coventry - we didnt lose when the away game was in Northampton, but they dont have any spell over us at Oakwell
We had a run of defeats in the early 2000's but in the last 10 years our home record is fairly decent.
We havent lost a home league game since 2010 and have won 4 of the 5 we played since then

Cant play the bogey card if we dont win for this one

Its a must win game in my mind already. To lose against 3 of the teams we'd expect to be in the bottom half makes it more difficult for us and sows the seeds that its a season of struggle yet again for fans and probably worse, the players and head coach.

Thats not to say we can't stay up, seeing as we always do it the hard way and this team seem to be better when not pressed high or if teams drop deeper.

Actually, i take it back, its not a must win, its a must not lose. A scoring draw at least opens the points tally and goals column after 3 games.

A win would be great a draw would be OK - a defeat is clearly bad
but this talk of must win games after 2 matches is a bit over the top in my opinion
How many "Must Win" games did we lose or draw last season.
We only had 2 that realy were must win games - the last 2 and we won them both

The impact of losing against Cov, let alone badly could be huge. We could lose a coach, and it could sow negativity in players and fans minds alike.

We aren't good enough to consistently turn over better teams, and the more information that comes out about us, the more teams know how to play against us rather than take us for granted.

If we cant pick up points against teams around us, it means we have to get more points from other teams that are better, but also potentially more points generally as we've given them opponents and not benefitted ourselves.

Of course technically, must win, would otherwise be reserved to the last few games when statistics mean you'd be relegated if you didnt win. But in retrospect, you can see games historically that turned out to be must wins that weren't statistically so at the time.

I think we can certainly agree it would be a huge boost to the young players, new signings and the coaching team to get 3 points on the board and score some goals.

I agree with all apart from when we go to hillsborough. Every flood light and advertising board is out to get us and help them win

Spot on. Last season the draws at home with Charlton and Reading and loss to Birmingham stick in my memory. I know the Charlton one was at the beginning of the season but to throw away the win contributed heavily to the 17 match winless run.

I know it's early doors as far as the league table is concerned, but to my mind, it's absolutely
imperative that we don't end tomorrow's game empty handed. Ideally, the win is our collective
ambition, but if that's not possible, I would settle for a draw to at least get the season finally underway.

After the first two games, the big question is, where are the goals going to come from.?
Thus far, we seem to lack the necessary positivity in front of goal and have unfortunately missed what
at first sight appeared to be relatively easy chances. We have to concentrate, focus and ensure we start
sticking them away, hopefully starting from tomorrow afternoon.

My main hope is that Coventry show some naevity with going new to the division and we pounded on that and get an early goal.
