Ones a billionaire and the other hasn’t got a pot to piss in, he’s just lead fans of Nice, Barnsley and others to think he’s a billionaire.
Abramovich has spent approximately £2bn since taking over Chelsea. Chien Lee hasn’t fully paid for the takeover of Barnsley and has yet to spend a penny of his own money. Chelsea are a loss making non sustainable club who are a success on the field. Barnsley are sustainable but unlikely to have the on field success.
Ones running a football club as a hobby throwing his spare money at them, not sure what the other is doing.

One's scared that he's going to be assassinated, and hence buys the football club located in the richest part of the richest city in Europe, so that his profile never drops low enough for him to be a genuine target. The other's trying to make a profit.
One is a multi billionaire who loves the club he owns and has put a lot of his own money in to them to make them successful. One isn't a billionaire and sees the club he owns as a business asset nothing more.
Well he sold 80% of shares in the company that own 7 Days Hotel group in China for £1.3 billion , how much of that Chien got I don’t know but he was a founder member of 7 Days Hotels so he must have got a fair wedge
The Russian one spends money on the football club he owns the Chinese one hasn't even fully paid for the football club he owns. The Russian one is in football for the joy of winning things the Chinese one is in football for what he can get out of it.
If you actually delve into the background of that deal (and it's not especially swift to do), its another case of verisimilitude. It seems Chien was part of a small IPO raise before the full IPO that delivered the biggest return, a point he wasn't involved at all. There are articles from the main shareholder at the time suggesting he didn't recognise Chiens involvement at all and other articles and records suggesting that his holding ahead of the first IPO was less than 10%. That suggests he may have made tens of millions from his involvement. I suspect his actual wealth is more akin to Patricks, ironically.
Its a stupid comparison to make. One owns one of the top sides in the Prem where he is able to spend big due to less strict FFP rules and huge income revenue each year. The other owns a club that Yo-Yos between L1 and Championship who don't earn huge money. Even if Chien was as willing to spend as Roman he couldn't due to FFP.
It is perfectly legal to incur £39m in losses over 3 years, and to invest additional money that is written off (think there is a cap, but cant recall the amount), so acts as a capital injection. I'm not advocating that as an approach at all. But the owners do have that legal ability if they so wished it.
They could, but the issue with doing so is that so many clubs in our league already do this but with bigger incomes and parachute payments etc. We could go ahead and make losses of 35 million over the next 3 years smashing our wage bill out of the water and signing players for 5 million plus. But unless we got promoted within those 3 years we would end up in a situation like the owls breaching ffp and in a right mess. I would love to see us spend some cash and bring some quality in and break the transfer record etc. but the quality players come at a big cost, not just in the initial fee but in wages. If we sign someone on 15k a week for example who is a really good championship player, they would be on nearly double our current top earner I would guess. You could then end up with the rest of the side wanting more money ( we all know agents would push for this too as they are money grabbing leeches). If we then up all first teamers to 10k a week plus to keep them happy our wage bill becomes ridiculous. I get that its annoying, especially when we all know how rich the owners are supposed to be, but we are a small club with a small revenue. We need to build gradually otherwise we could so easily end up in a dire situation like a Bolton or Bury.
Couple of interesting facts I’ve just looked up. Chelsea made a profit 3 of the last five yrs. prior to that lost £670m since Abramovich took over. Recording only one profitable year. Interestingly exceptional costs include £26.6 million in termination costs to Conte and his staff. Total Termination costs under The Abramovich era around £90m. As to the accusations lee has led fans into believing he’s a billionaire I believe are way off the mark. The fans through searches have brought that about. I don’t remember once him claiming to be as such. DWL seems to have put more research into his wealth. When you google lees worth alongside Parekh. Billions. If you google clubs owners wealths Lee appears in the top bracket. I guess that’s where most information has been gathered. What I do know is I wish I hadn’t got a pot to piss in if that’s an anology.
