...my mate who supports Forest said that the main difference we'd notice would be the ruthless finishing at that level, and so it proved, especially early in the season. It was a proper shock. Without wishing to make any excuses for our atrocious errors this evening, it's been a stark reminder that the same still holds true. It's a massive shame we've self destructed four times, as we've actually played pretty well overall.

We'd have been punished by a L2 side making some of those mistakes tonight and the worrying thing is they just kept making them they didn't learn.

But against a L2 side we'd never have made the mistakes in the first place, because we wouldn't have been put under the same pressure when trying to play out from the back.

They’ve missed loads of absolute sitters.

I thought that in the first half we had a lot more time to play out from the back than we tend to get in the championship - I'd say there's an argument that we put them under more pressure. Certainly the first mistake wasn't to do with trying to play out.

Mostly after they were already 4-0 up and were pulling us all over the place. It would have been easy for us to just sit back and go for damage limitation, but at least we kept trying to attack. It probably led to the game finishing 6-0 instead of 4-0, but let's be right, that doesn't really matter.

The first one wasn't, you're right. The rest were though.

Another reminder of why Halme can’t get into the starting XI.

Regarding Halme. I think his game gets better the more he plays. He started last season slowly too. I don't think he's a bad player but can't see when he's going to start unless we have injuries and suspensions and when he's thrown in he has his worst games. I'd sell him.

Carlisle last year. Tried playing out from the back and got punished by a league two side.
That was under Stendel. Under Struber we were punished for it by practically every side in the championship until he finally changed it and went long.

It isn't the opposition forcing the errors it's is who are incompetent at it

I agree but i find it interesting that moore is now considrred a world class player now hes left but needed 6 clear cut chances to score 1 goal for us and if we hadnt sold him we'd be in the premier league.

I think finishing was the weakest of Moore's traits. Winnall was a great finisher. Think Woodrow is too, but he lacks that positional sense to be in the right place at the right time that Winnall seemed to have. Schmidt might have that, but doesn't have Woodrow's work ethic. I guess this is why they're with us rather than a club higher up the ladder.

The first goal was worse than Cameron McGeehans wayward pass at Hillsborough last year .
Cameron hardly had a chance after that snd was in and out the team , let’s see what happens in this case .
Imo that pass was completely unprofessional . It was passed back towards our goal to start and it must have been done blind as there wasn’t a yellow shirt within five yards of the pass , he didn’t look up he just got rid as fast as he could .
