No not that 'comedy' show (see what I did there?)

Blacker Hall Farm Restaurant - I've never been before so can anyone tell me what it's like in terms of quality, price, service etc.

Thanking you in advance you lovely Lancashre Tykes/Reds/Grove Street regulars whatever the latest non de plume is

The breakfasts are good, although a tad expensive

My wife and I used to be regulars at Blacker Hall, until we discovered the "Seed Room" at the
Horticentre in Overton, the " Thorncliffe Tasting Rooms "at Emley, " The Thyme Bistro"
at Cannon Hall Garden Centre and of course " The White Bull" at Cannon Hall Farm.

My personal opinion about Blacker Hall is that it's " bland" and expensive. I'm a stickler
for hygiene and one thing about the place bugs me. The light shades above the tables
are like Chinese lanterns and the last time I was there, they were thick with dust and debris.

When the sun shines in through the window, as customers enter the cafe, they tend to let
the door slam shut. When that happens ,through the suns rays, you can physically see a
shower of dust fall from the shades down onto patrons food on the tables below.

We don't go there anymore so I don't know if they've done anything to sort the problem out.
We tend to share our time between Cannon Hall Farm, the Seed Room and Thorncliffe at Emley
and go there as often as we can.

One place we've also visited lately is the coffee shop at " di Bosco" at Horbury Bridge. It gets
mixed reviews on Trip Advisor , but as we usually only order a coffee, we have had no problems
with quality or waiting times. They also do ice cold Peroni on draught, which always goes down
    well with me.

Don't know how to send personal messages

Not a problem with your request. With Covid restrictions and better weather, wife tells me
they are using the patio area at Blacker Hall so it could be OK. Other alternative is the
Seed Room at Overton. It offers good food and is reasonably priced. With current restrictions
don't know if you have to book in advance. You do at de Bosco.

My cousin’s other half is the chef / co-owner at The Thyme Bistro. Enjoyed it when I’ve been in.

Went there on August bank holiday, no social distancing because they were being greedy and letting too many people in, folk were brushing against us as they queued to get into another que to order food.
£9 for a pulled pork sandwich didn't help either.
