Continued to go to work throughout, only difference was the lack of traffic on my journey to and from work. Oh and both holidays we had booked were cancelled.
Is there an option for workload doubled since March and can't go on holiday cos of daft fuckers avin a party and being unable to follow simple instructions.
Work from home anyway - have done for the last 3 years - only difference is I havent made any visits to my client in Austria this year - usually I would spend a few days there once every few months - just doing everything else as normal via Webex and a remote link in Made absolutely no difference to my work except I need to take some time off or will run out of hours in my contract as didn't do a ski holiday and only had one week in the summer
Worked from home 5 days per week instead of the normal two, and no visits to client site for six months (Last time was March 5th). Unfortunately, those six months were the summer and the client is in Guernsey so lost one of the "perks" of the job I was looking forward to. Currently unlikely that travel will start again in the near future either so looking at wfh for the next six months at least - one week quarantine is a bit excess for 2-3 days in the office! I'm half expecting to have to get someone to post my stuff back from my locker because I don't make it back out there again before the project finishes.
As above - and no being called in for meetings which add no value but are supposed to make me feel like part of ‘the team’. and the money we’d have spent on holidays and travel to work has gone to other companies. Many of which are having a boom year. Talk to Jewsons, screwfix window and door suppliers, they’re having a ball.
Ticked "laid off". Technically I'm just not allowed to do my job. My company is still in business & will be up to next March. After that if we're not allowed to work the whole industry will be ******.
All the staff who were furloughed for 4 months have comback and put thier holidays in and are off again.
I've been on furlough (I take pictures of commercial vehicles on an iPad at BCA, on minimum wage). I was injured cycling home from work in january (cracked ribs, cracked skull and separated shoulder) and was still off sick when I was furloughed so I've been off work since 13th January. I'm 64 and would happily take redundancy to allow others who need the job more than me to carry on if and when we get back to normal.
Worked throughout apart from, 2 lots of self- isolation totalling 4 days. Had to very quickly learn other areas of work. Not easy and quite stressful when there’s a significant and increasing section of the public relying on your services (money)
Been working (mainly) on the northern section of HS2. As soon as Lockdown went in we ramped up. Even the tories are sensible enough to know that when you’re economy is ****** you’d have to pump prime from central Govt.
