I know the sponsored us in 2000 and went under but can anyone remember when during the season they disappeared or what was on the front of the shirt after?

Stayed on the shirt the whole 2000/01 season as far as I remember.

I was 17/18 in sixth form, bought both shirts (the green away was an abomination of the highest order), and, whilst being somewhat slimmer than now, the irony of having Big Thing across my rotund chest was not lost amongst my mocking school friends.

Living in Donny there weren’t many (any) other barnsley fans so I got little support or sympathy!!

I found this funny, I was only around 12 and went abroad for xmas and new year with the parents. My mam bought both me and my dad the green away top. First thing my dad said was ‘so that’s what you think of me? Big thing’ :D:D

I have the green away shirt. A thing of absolute beauty. Get strange looks at the gym and football. Wonder why...

What exactly was "Big Thing"? It's one of those companies I never actually saw anywhere except for the shirt. Similar to Ora, but at least it told us they were a mobile phone accessory company(even though I never saw one of their products in the wild)...

Pyramid selling scheme or what some called a Pomzi. The company owners were prosecuted successfully if I remember right.

That was a different sponsor of ours in 1994. FWP they were called.

Big thing was an internet portal which was a sort of search engine with TV listngs, lottery results and news on the home page.

Can you remember how far into the season it was announced that they'd gone under though? Big thing that is not fwp. Only asking because my first post on the BBS was the day that happened so I'm curious to work out when it was.

If my memory serves me right, it was just before Christmas. The club insisted it would continue wearing the shirts with the logo as they weren't going to give the company an excuse to claim we were in breach of the contract and weren't entitled to monies owed.

FWP ? Were they a club sponsor. Got to admit I thought. Big thing were a pyramid co that went bust. But I do remember as lil said. Think they’d paid Barnsley up front so to speak. So Barnsley stuck with it.

I think we played Wimbledon that season, in matches where the shirt sponsors were 'Big Thing' and 'Tiny'.
