I get the feeling this is a bit of a smoke screen, similar to what happened with Oduor. We’ll see! It’s very rare we’re so upfront about our transfer targets.
According to reports 3€ million. Which is about £2.74 million. Who was it this week on here telling everyone that these owners will not spend over £1 million on a player ??? Own up.
Its alright spending that on a player but if we're only offering 2k in wages it's pretty pointless really.
Didn’t he reject us last summer too? That’s twice now. He clearly doesn’t want to come here we need to move onto other targets. The financial situation his club are in (allegedly) you'd imagine they would want to force through a deal. We could end up spending 3 mill on a player who doesn’t want to be here. Wouldn’t be brilliant business. For me I’d like to see a player want to be here if we’re going to spend those ridiculous sums.
A loan with an option to buy would probably suit both parties but no point the lad coming over here if he felt it wasn't where he wanted to be.
“According to reports” is key here huh? I’d be flabbergasted if we spent over 2 and a half million on someone this transfer window.
I think Struber alluded to this in his press conference earlier today. Mentioned how strong the group of players are and that it's really important that we factor in that unity when looking to bring players in to the group. Reading between the lines he could be referencing this player not being overly keen to come to Barnsley.
Take it with a pinch of salt. The translated article stated the player rejected us yesterday, yet today in the presser GS said it was still active and he was still an option
These players don’t realise how lovely the area around Barnsley is,Whitey should put a montage together to play to prospective signings,it’s not all whippets and flat caps
I'll break a rule of mine and tell a story that I couldn't at the time now. But during a winter transfer window a couple of years ago, we had a French-based player here who'd agreed everything and was in the office to sign etc. He'd done the medical. Then up and left, changed his mind. We were later told he got a bad feeling having seen the area. He plays at this stadium now:
That was Manzala right? I was looking forward to him coming here based off the clips we’d all seen. Mind you, we all know how dodgy that ground is. Kayode, I’m looking at you!
If we spend 3 million euros on a player then I'll personally lick Paul Conway's feet. No chance. More change of Nudger saying "Mowatt played well today" They won't even pay the Cryne's what they owe - no chance they spend that.
