Yea let’s move on from institutionalised racism and oppression, I mean it’s just not on is it old chap. Remember to cancel that series link, it’s all about the protest vote.

I can see Juds point Pompey. Know him well. The taking the knee appears tiresome it will be done to death where people are doing it for the sake of it. And some for fear of offending those who do by not, He’s a right minded fella. I personally wouldn’t take the knee. Would I march if necessary absolutely. I show my support in other ways through media etc. As I do with any political protest. Hopefully the nation get the gist of the black lives matter. Let’s focus on lots of other matters as well.

The idea is to keep it as high profile as possible, I do not get why taking the knee is tiresome. There are other delays to a football match that are annoying like the delaying of free- kicks, extended and over exuberant goal celebrations

he decided to cancel a recording of a popular entertainment show in a somewhat bizarre one man protest against what I’ve got no idea. Whilst ever there is inequality the struggle against it will never get tiresome.

It pisses off and exposes racists. If it does nothing else it’s worth it.

I agree racists wont 'take the knee' but it would be wrong and naive to suggest that anyone who doesn't 'take the knee' is a racist.
(I wont 'take the knee' because I think it's patronising and a futile gesture.)

I support the notion of only BAME people being shortlisted for some jobs. Do you?

Surely the time to move on is when there's change? People whinging about taking the knee ( which affects them not one iota) show that the message hadn't got through surely?

I agree the message about discrimination/lack of equality hasn't got through but does 'taking the knee' actually help or is it in reality an empty gesture.

In reality how has 'taking the knee' brought about a betterment in the lot of BAME people?

What we are in danger of doing is becoming self-congratulatory by 'taking the knee' and thinking we are doing some good.
When in reality we are not doing anything of real benefit to anyone.

What about ring fencing jobs for BAME candidates -

I agree it's not enough in itself. However a lot of those saying move on were never wanting it to happen in the first place.

Can I ask this. How many of you will take to the knee if it’s still being done by players prior to the game. How long will it be before someone says the point has been made. Or will it be part of every occasion we attend where it’s performed. One person has made the anology not taking the knee is a show of racism. Utter Bull tbf.
It’s the I’m a better person than you that shines through No your not. Cos if you believe it, you’re in denial. And picture perfect. can any of us say that.
If you can’t tell the difference between a frustrated comment and a downright racist. Then it’s your problem. No one should feel guilty if others see it differently.(unless it’s blindingly obvious) I doubt if most, know many on here, as we are AKA. There will be wife beaters. Abusers et al not one of us know that. But I hazard a good guess there is. The poster who put the comment I know very well. I also know he said it without malice to the BLM. Movement.
    Neither have I.
let him without sin. Cast the first stone.

Believe me Helen. Jud is not one of those. He’ll not forgive me for stepping in. But as one who actually knows the man very well I totally understand what he put. And can see how it seems and can be twisted. Their are people on here who can testify to his dedication to causes. Not sit on his arse and allow others to do it for him. ( He wouldn’t say himself as it’s not something he seeks attention for)

I'd be more than happy to take the knee. In fact, I'd be proud to take it alongside of Simoes, Diaby, Palmer, Christie-Davies, Adeboyejo and especially Clarke Oduor especially after the vile comments on his Twitter page from so-called Barnsley fans. I have no intention of telling anyone else what to do. Neither have I any intention of taking advice from anyone else on the subject of racism. I am happy to allow others to say what they like, as will I & won't be silenced by others who disagree with me.
