Sollbauer Mowatt Woodrow Ritzmaer Styles all been criticised so far ive seen One Game in No wonder players move on and cant wait to leave us Jeez calm down Yes it was a poor performance but theres 45 more to go
On the plus side if they play well next week they will rightly get the plaudits, comes with the job as far as I'm concerned they certainly get paid well enough. I can't see many losing sleep over a few online negative comments.
It’s the nature of the beast I’m afraid. Especially in this modern age. Everything is instant. There’s little contemplation involved, no context with thought. It’s pure emotion. Nothing wrong with that. So long as you understand it. I understand it. So it doesn’t fuss me. Let people let off steam. It matters not.
I agree to an extent. For people like Solbauer and Styles you can say it's one game, for Woodrow the people who criticise him are actually talking about his performances for quite a while (though personally I think it's the managers doing not his), for Ritzmaier well nobody can claim this is one game can they? He's been absolutely awful since the day he walked into the club.
I don’t agree with you on this Andy. Many of us have been watching football in general, and BFC in particular, for many years, and are able to take a reasonably objective viewpoint. Mine, for what it’s worth, is that today was probably a fair indication of our overall prospects for the season. We employ a pretty cautious system, where structure is prioritised over flair, and one that will see us not concede lots of goals, but not score many either. I suspect that 1-0 wins or 0-1 defeats will be prevalent. Let’s hope it’s more the former than the latter.
In terms of what the OP referred to, my point/reasoning stands. Do you believe the OP referred to you?
I was referring to your post which inferred that people’s views are all about emotion and nothing about objectivity (at least that’s how it read to me). The ‘everything is instant’ statement is interesting in the context of 50-plus years support, for example.
It’s our lack of physicality that worries me. Luton our muscled is all over the park. Plenty of other sides will do the same. It needs addressing before the window closes. We’re a very small side and it’ll hurt us at this level.
I was referring to the OP, in terms of folk slagging off certain players and the performance based on the one game. It wasn't a general overview. But there's elements that stick in general regardless. Like I say, I understand the desire to let off steam, live in the moment and not take a wider view. It's natural. Doesn't make it right. Or wrong. It's just white noise when all is said and done. Just as it is when the Reds are winning and folk go t'other way. Just opinions.
But it's not instant is it the issue is the problems with the squad as laid bear by today's performance are the same problems that dogged most of last season which lets face it up until lockdown was a complete car crash and if it hadn't been for a certain Hong Kong business man doing us a massive favour would have ended as a car crash. The short comings evident in the squad since last summer's departures still haven't been addressed the team are lacking a physical presence in midfield and up front for a start.
Losing at home to smallest club in league is pretty ***** going whatever way u look at it, new signing “miles better than Jacob brown” according to half of our fans couldn’t hit a barn door by the looks. Anyway another long scrape of a season hopefully few clubs will get 12 point penalties and give us a chance
I'd say anyone tearing into the team/players, or suggesting they know better after one game, is pretty much as I described. There wasn't this response last weekend. For example. Anyway... long day. I need kip.
First game last season, do you think Fulham was like "thats it then, were shat, might as well gi up, no point carrying on". No And to anyone who says "oh we lost to the sh*ttest team in the league, we will never recover, we are down!" Just let itbplay out a couple games first, then say whatever extremities you want.
It's a shame that nobody has replied to you already! I've had this struggle many a time with online initialisms. It's "Original poster" - whoever started the thread or conversation.
I thought we looked excellent. Now admittedly thanks to iFollow I only saw 30 odd seconds of the game. But still solid.
I think you’ve made YT’s point for him , Friesers only played 20 minutes in a friendly and one league game and you’ve written him off
Unfortunately it wont change. It's the nature of many football fans. We win and we're brilliant. We lose and we.'re *****. The fact that its just one game in 46 doesnt matter to them. The point Durkar had made about Frieser is spot on. Patience is key.
